gizmo911 Posted June 24, 2014 #1 Share Posted June 24, 2014 (edited) Hey fellow cruisers. It has been a very long time since I have cruised Carnival (been with NCL) and will be heading out on the Splendor in August. I love it when people share their experiences, must do, must see, and what they really enjoyed while on a cruise. This will be very helpful in giving Carnival newbies some options to look at while still enjoying our own experiences and trying new things. Thank! irishnyc Posted June 24, 2014 #6 Share Posted June 24, 2014 My husband loved Tandoori, which isn't on very many Carnival ships. Our favorite place to eat lunch was up by the Rotisserie because it was always quiet.
Katmarha Posted June 24, 2014 #7 Share Posted June 24, 2014 Following. Booked for a cruise in Aug. My DD was disappointed - no Guys Burger. I have heard lots about Grand Turk, should be a fun trip.

092306 Posted June 24, 2014 #9 Share Posted June 24, 2014 I'm on the Splendor in November. Where is the rotisserie and what type of menu is it? I'm thinking chicken :D Rotisserie chicken, Mac n cheese, baked potatoes, drawing a blank on the rest. Best part about it is that it's on deck 10 and fR less crowded than the main buffet area. You just go upstairs by the dessert area.

champagne123 Posted June 26, 2014 #11 Share Posted June 26, 2014 If you do not have any children and do not want to be near any...go to the pool AFT, deck 9. Yes, there is a Serenity section also, but the one AFT has a bar, food, a pool and two hot tubs. No one under 18 allowed. :)

Anyone can be back there for food or using the tables/chairs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Andoria Posted June 26, 2014 #14 Share Posted June 26, 2014 Loved the Tandoori and the pizza. I mostly sat on my balcony and made my donations to the casino....
spiritualtraveller Posted June 26, 2014 #15 Share Posted June 26, 2014 loved the buffet. always something for everyone. dinner service took 2 hours EVERY night. very slow. food hit or miss. room steward teguh was just the best. saw to everything. didn't go to any shows cause i spent most of my time in casino and achieved free drink card by the 3rd night. did go to karaoke once and enjoyed it, also piano bar with dana. he is so very talented. ports were amazing and continued my tradition of getting a bad sunburn!! this itinerary never gets old for me. i could go to half moon cay every week!! any questions, feel free to ask! hope u enjoy your cruise as much as we did. sjcruiser Posted June 26, 2014 #16 Share Posted June 26, 2014 My husband loved Tandoori, which isn't on very many Carnival ships. Our favorite place to eat lunch was up by the Rotisserie because it was always quiet. Tandoor on the Breeze was my favorite spot for lunch, and it was never crowded. I think most people didn't even know it was back there on the opposite ship of the ship from the pizzeria. The grilled chicken and fish, along with the salads are the best!!! paulypride Posted June 26, 2014 #18 Share Posted June 26, 2014 Tandor is my favorite for lunch. We always do at least one night at the steakhouse (free bottle of wine on the 1st night). The shows are ok - if you havent seen them already. Half Moon Cay is simply the best beach and GT was fun for a while.

the2006Junket Posted June 28, 2014 #20 Share Posted June 28, 2014 Hi, since you (OP) haven't sailed Carnival in a long time, I thought I'd share that the main theater productions were very good. Compared to our two sailings on the Glory up to Canada, the Splendor had more dancers and more professional dancers and vocalists. AND they had a real band! Yes, people who play actual musical instruments! My DH and I love live music and it made us so happy to see that there was a showband. Don't miss the couple of times that they play in smaller venues during the seadays. Happy Sailing! Lynne
