shredie Posted July 2, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 2, 2014 I know this is a privilege thing for suites and other circumstances, but what is a Sabatini's breakfast? Yes, I know it's served in Sabatini's the Italian restaurant. What I want to know is what makes it so special? How's the coffee? ;)
Colo Cruiser Posted July 2, 2014 #2 Share Posted July 2, 2014 (edited) Minosa's! Poached eggs in a glass dish! Service! Location! Coffee is good! Just to name a few. ;) Edited July 2, 2014 by Colo Cruiser
Corfe Mixture Posted July 2, 2014 #3 Share Posted July 2, 2014 Not to be missed. Basically you get a very wide selection of food, all served at your table. Coffee is fine You also get mimosa or alternative if you ask. You will only need to identify yourself on the first day, and probably not even that if you take the complimentary first night dinner in the restaurant as they will remember you. After a couple of days, the staff will remember what you normally have and it becomes a very pleasant and relaxed way to start the day The staff are very keen to please and if they think something they have may be to your taste they will make sure you know it is available. Enjoy. It is a very nice perk and IMHO definitely better than taking breakfast on the balcony The biggest problem is not eating a bigger breakfast than you intended
ggprincess2004 Posted July 2, 2014 #4 Share Posted July 2, 2014 Ambience, preparation of food, service, mimosas, espresso based beverages, menu options, relaxation, pampered feeling, ahhhhhhhh..........to paraphrase Princess: Escape completely....come back a larger size.......;)

Personally I have never been in Sabatini's for breakfast when there have been people there who were not in a suite, and it is not possible to invite family members, or friends, who are not in suites to join you for breakfast, However, if you are looking at breakfast in Sabatinis, as a form of compensation, then, Good Luck. It is definitely worth it is you can get it.

Just because you haven't seen or experienced this doesn't mean it doesn't exist. And I'm not talking about someone who by complaining enough gets this perk. It could be someone who has achieved a high level in loyalty or was invited by a staff member... or other reason. They are legitimate and you don't have to be a jerk to get them. capriccio Posted July 2, 2014 #7 Share Posted July 2, 2014 I'm not a coffee drinker but my husband is. He likes that you can get specialty coffees without using his coffee card. I like the unlimited mimosas :D.

Oops, I apologise if my message came over as being more definitive than it was intended, but, to be fair, I did not say it couldn't happen, just that 'Personally, I had never been in Sabatini's for breakfast when there have been people there who were not in a suite'. I also wished the OP Good Luck if that was his objective. Whatever, thank you for 'correcting my error' and any false impression I might have given. Just as an FYI, when you achieve 75 cruise credits, you get breakfast in Sabatini's for the entire cruise, but just that cruise. There are loyalty perks beyond what's published in the Captain's Circle. Not on Princess but on another line, there was a major problem with my booking that was the line's fault. In compensation for their error, they gave me a huge OBC, four spa/massage treatments, dinner in a specialty restaurant, etc. I never asked for it nor did I expect anything although I was upset at the time. Major issues that are not the passenger's fault can often be ameliorated by a few perks.

RetiredNTraveling Posted July 2, 2014 #13 Share Posted July 2, 2014 (edited) There is just something about "Breakfast at Sabatini's" that words cannot explain! The moment you arrive you feel special and you are! ;) It starts with the "Welcome" and being escorted to "Your Table" and then when comfortably seated the pampering begins. "Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice" and "Minosa's" are brought to you immediately along with really great coffee! Then comes the "Pushers" providing you with your choice of "Fresh Breakfast Rolls/Croissants" and when I say pushers, I mean it. "They are offended if you refuse or heaven forbid take just one, as it would be lonely all by itself!" :D While this is taking place, you order you breakfast from the fabulous menu and you are not limited to the menu selection; eggs anyway with bacon or sausage or whatever are available. However as previously stated, "Steak & Eggs" usually is a next day order. But what else do you have to do that is pressing? One of the Specialties is their "Eggs Benedict", oh I know you can order them in the MDR but those have sat under a heat lamp waiting to be brought out. Well these haven't sat anywhere as they are brought out "Fresh"! Simply magnificent! The coffee is constantly being refilled as is your OJ or Mimosa if you want! As for toast/croissants they are readily available and then there is the "Orange Marmalade" yes it is that good! Really! When you think you are through, well think again, there is more coffee or mimosas', espresso based beverages and time to simply set back and relax before beginning you "hectic" day! :D The "Ambience", "Service" and "Pampering" really makes you wonder why you haven't booked a suite before... ahhhhhhhh ;) We are just, RetiredNTraveling!(Mike & Betty) Edited July 2, 2014 by RetiredNTraveling

cflutist Posted July 2, 2014 #16 Share Posted July 2, 2014 Are the scrambled eggs made to order? Meaning not scooped from pre-made sitting in a steam table? That is one reason I order fried eggs from the MDR or HC when I really prefer scrambled.

cflutist Posted July 2, 2014 #20 Share Posted July 2, 2014 I'm looking forwards to this in January. Our first PH Suite (yeah it bugs me that all the other categories are on sale right now, but they raised the fare after we booked).

Sunviking Posted July 2, 2014 #22 Share Posted July 2, 2014 IMHO the best perk still given to people booking suites who are also elite is the Sabatinis breakfasts. We found on our just completed cruise (as we have found on prior cruises) that after the first day the staff knows what your coffee choice is, mimosas come w/o asking, and they even begin to know your food preferences. Eggs are cooked to order; special requests are fulfilled that day if possible and by the next day if not. I'm always grouchier on days when we have an early shore excursion and can't have breakfast there!
bhopal21 Posted July 2, 2014 #23 Share Posted July 2, 2014 IMHO the best perk still given to people booking suites who are also elite is the Sabatinis breakfasts All suite passengers are entitled to breakfast at Sabatini's regardless of their captain's circle status. Being elite is irrelevant. Mike:)

You should have heard me bitch the one and only time I received an upgrade, from a balcony to a mini-suite. I accepted the upgrade but then regretted it because I really do hate being mid-ship. Much prefer the aft section. I liked the cabin but hated mid-ship.
