StanandJim Posted July 4, 2014 #2 Share Posted July 4, 2014 “Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”
Toranut97 Posted July 4, 2014 #3 Share Posted July 4, 2014 Thank you, No Fuss! Here in the Midwest (at least our corner of it) we are delighting in sunny skies and a projected high of 78 degrees F ---- Perfect! I am off in a few minutes for a 5K Walk.... which is followed by a parade.... and then a cookout with family. May everyone enjoy a safe and blessed 4th! CintiPam Posted July 4, 2014 #7 Share Posted July 4, 2014 Happy Fourth of July! Fabulous weather and looking forward to the fireworks this evening. Jim, thanks for quoting the great poem by Emma Lazarus. I quoted these same words at my Bat Mitzvah many long years ago.:)
Rare DOJO466 Posted July 5, 2014 #8 Share Posted July 5, 2014 Thanks for posting the picture . I remember how wonderful it is to sail in our out of NYC past the Statue of Liberty. I always get chills at the the sight of her. I also remember sailing out of NYC this past May. Have never sailed out of NYC and though it was misty rainy, just felt thrills leaving port, sailing past Ellis Island and the Great Lady herself. Chilling, mesmerizing.......
