cmountainman Posted July 7, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 7, 2014 I'm looking for the current cigar smoking situation on the Glory. Please don't post the policy as it can be, and often is, changed by the ships. As recently as November, a fellow cruiser posted that cigars were allowed in the Blue Bar (cigar lounge) but others have said it wasn't, so just looking for clarity. Also, what do you think about the 2.0 changes.

Cruise-Crazy Posted July 7, 2014 #3 Share Posted July 7, 2014 I was on Glory back in November. The Blue Bar was listed in FunTimes as a cigar bar. I smoked my cigars on my balcony, did not try going in there.
cmountainman Posted July 7, 2014 Author #4 Share Posted July 7, 2014 For clarity then, Is there someone who has been on the Glory between February and now, who smokes cigars, and can verify in what lounge it is allowed. Better?
hftmrock Posted July 7, 2014 #5 Share Posted July 7, 2014 Not sure of the point then. :-) thats what I was thinking... if the OP doesnt want to policy and some say its allowed in some places and some say its not, what are you expecting in this thread besides some people saying its allowed and some saying its not? firemanbobswife Posted July 7, 2014 #6 Share Posted July 7, 2014 I can tell you that in May Bar Blue (or as I call it "the Peacock Room") was listed in the Funtimes as allowing cigar smoking. And when I went in, it did indeed smell like cigars. Sorry, that's all the info that I have. Hope it helps a little.
rdler Posted July 7, 2014 #7 Share Posted July 7, 2014 The OP asked a legitimate question. In this climate, the fact that Carnival posts that smoking is permitted in a particular location doesn't mean that it is on any given ship. The balcony seems to be the only place smoking is really permitted (casino, too, but not for cigars), but then one has to deal with folks on either side or up and down or at the far end of the ship complaining. I don't know the answer to the OP's original question. Does anyone?
cmountainman Posted July 7, 2014 Author #8 Share Posted July 7, 2014 FIREMANBOBSWIFE..........THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. I didn't think I was asking that tough a question. In May it was OK in the Blue Bar....Perfect. What did you think of the 2.0 upgrades?

Yes, in May it said cigar smoking is OK in Bar Blue (it's not called Blue Bar - weird, I know, but figured you should have the correct name). I will see if I can get you a pic of the Funtimes that says that. I really like 2.0 upgrades! Serenity is awesome!!! Same with Guy's Burgers. I'm not a big Mexican fan, so didn't eat at Blue Iguana, but my friends and family did and they say it's great. Try the breakfast burritos (or so I hear). firemanbobswife Posted July 7, 2014 #10 Share Posted July 7, 2014 Here ya go. Fresh from the May 11, 2014 sailing of the Carnival Glory
hftmrock Posted July 7, 2014 #11 Share Posted July 7, 2014 Here ya go. Fresh from the May 11, 2014 sailing of the Carnival Glory maybe here was the confusion. the OP specifically said that he didnt want the policy. what you posted here is the policy. lots of people would have posted this if he wanted the policy. You did say you went and it was ok which is (I guess) what the OP was looking for except if another person says in june they were not allowed... then I think the OP would be in the same position as before he posted

You did say you went and it was ok which is (I guess) what the OP was looking for except if another person says in june they were not allowed... then I think the OP would be in the same position as before he posted I realize this. However, if there was an issue with lighting up a cigar in Bar Blue, I sure would be bringing a copy of the Funtimes with me to show that it is indeed allowed. But like I said, when I went in it did smell like cigars. So I'm guessing that they were actually smoked in there. If you saw my original post stating this, and the reply from the OP, they thanked me for my limited, yet recent, information. Just thought I would post the section from the Funtimes as to maybe also set their mind at ease a little more. But thanks for pointing out what you think the OP doesn't want even though they feel that I was somewhat useful.

But thanks for pointing out what you think the OP doesn't want even though they feel that I was somewhat useful. if you saw my last reply, I did say you gave the OP what they wanted as long as others done come with conflicting situations. So I did see it. its not even worth the effort. the OP was a bit confusing at first saying that he knows that people have said they are allowed and some people saying its now allowed but wanted to hear it here. that was the confusing part. no worries. you gave the OP what they needed and thats what was important.. congrats Edited July 7, 2014 by hftmrock
