cheewiee Posted July 10, 2014 #26 Share Posted July 10, 2014 You need a LOT of room to ramp up to a ~200 foot clearance from sea level. I just don't see where they have room to do it even if it were in the budget. Okay, Drawbridge...
gtalum Posted July 10, 2014 #27 Share Posted July 10, 2014 Fantasy has been for sale for quite a while now. Carnival is obviously looking to start unloading.

True, but that rumor has been out for a while, and she is still there. Soooo, if they can't sell them, what would they do with them?

If Carnival is trying to sell her, they can (and should) be picky with Buyers... I am sure the beards don't want this ship competing with other Fantasy class ships in the 3/4/5 night market in the Bahamas/Caribbean. And as long as the ship's making money there isn't a rush to sell...
cuppettmd Posted July 10, 2014 #30 Share Posted July 10, 2014 Even if they decide on a new port, it's not a done-deal. Look what happened to Jacksonville with the Dames Point bridge. They were all set for a new Jaxport and the home owners of Mayport shot them down. I think the only logical solution is Retractable Whale Tails!:) Or at least, contract with Viking River Cruises, their ships will clear!
