BDHPlayer Posted July 28, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 28, 2014 Any idea where to buy 12 packs of soft drinks nearby? Does British Columbia have deposits for each can and what is typical pricing. Thanks

Thanks Nearest place to get a reasonable selection is probably the Rexall Pharmacy at Granville & Pender. Deposit is 5c per container (up to 1 litre)/10c(1 litre+) for soft drinks. Pricing is c. $5 for a 12 pack of cans for name brands, but there's often a 'three for $10' type deal on. There are a couple of supermarkets not that much further away - of the two chains, Nester's is usually cheaper than Urban Fare. Here's a walking map - B is Rexall, C is Nesters. The latter is easily combined with a trip down Water Street to see the Steam Clock & Gassy Jack statue, a very popular thing to do.
Tweedy Posted July 28, 2014 #3 Share Posted July 28, 2014 In addition to the places named above, there is a London Drugs at Granville & Georgia which is 2 blocks south of the Rexall and easy to get to on the Canada Line is walking is an issue (get off the train at Vancouver City Centre). They have sales every couple of weeks and do put soft drinks on sale.
scottbee Posted July 29, 2014 #4 Share Posted July 29, 2014 If you're going to take Skytrain; don't take Canada Line to go to London Drugs, instead head to Costco; next door to Stadium Station on the older Expo line. The Expo/Millennium line is much easier to get to from Canada Place than the Canada [airport] Line (½ block v. 3 blocks); one zone ticket and ride ANY [expo/millennium/main st] train leaving the expo/millennium platform and get off at Stadium. Walk DOWN the stairs toward Rogers Arena turn right and Costco is right there. A single $2.75 transit fare is good for 90 minutes, so there and back is easy on the same ticket.
