ALS1214 Posted August 2, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 2, 2014 My husband , my son and I got offers for a cruise certificate . Mine and my sons were specific Bahamas and western Caribbean ob sky and jewel. Hubby's said up to seven days with no specific ship. Any chance to switch to boston or ny ships if we actually pick then up? Casino reps were very vague. Sent from my iPad using Forums
Sestar Posted August 2, 2014 #2 Share Posted August 2, 2014 Normally free cruise offers from land casinos are limited to whatever the certificate says. My certificate directs me to a website to review available options. To make the reservation, I must call CAS to book. They would need your certificate number. modfanmike Posted August 3, 2014 #3 Share Posted August 3, 2014 My mother has won 5 of these cruises from Twin River. We took 4 of them and upgraded to a balcony on all. The fifth was only for the Sky and the Jewel out of Houston. We did not like those itineraries and asked for a different one and was told no. She just recieved a notice for a sixth cruise with the same itineraries and we will probably pass on that one also. The 4 we took were a western from Miami, Bahamas on the Breakaway, and 2 Bermuda from Boston.

CantSwim63 Posted August 3, 2014 #5 Share Posted August 3, 2014 (edited) Hope your husband gets the choices you want. I picked up a voucher last week in LAS and the choices included Boston and the two NY ships that applied to my time period (sail by end of July 2015). If he has a non-specific promotion I am going to guess that it is going to have Boston and NY. I also lucked out because by booking before the 2nd I got to stack the 3rd and 4th person "free", the small OBC depending on cabin and upgrade (kind of) promotions as well as the "free" voucher. Cheers and good luck! Edited August 3, 2014 by CantSwim63
VideoTech Posted August 3, 2014 #6 Share Posted August 3, 2014 The offers you get from the land casinos are related to your level of play, as well as any "deals" they have going with NCL. Usually you cannot change the offer. Best thing to do is to take a land casino offer, cruise NCL, get your CAS card and get your level of play going on NCL. Once you become a valued CAS customer, your options are not limited by the deals your local casino has going, or by your play at that casino. jethrojam Posted August 3, 2014 #7 Share Posted August 3, 2014 Is this the offer that you are talking about? If so, can you give a little info on is it worth my time to call and go down there, or is it the type of thing where I have to spend 2000 in "fees" just to get a 1500 inside cabin? Mikkar Posted August 3, 2014 #8 Share Posted August 3, 2014 I get these certificates from Foxwoods and the first 2 cruises I booked using them but I didn't use the last one because it was for an inside cabin and when I called CAS directly, they offered me a balcony on the Breakaway in October. I also received another postcard offer from CAS for a mini suite that I booked for November. If you have already cruised with NCL and have played in the casino, call them and ask for the rate on the cruise you're interested in. They may comp you a better cabin and a better itinerary than the land based casinos.

Guess I will hold out a little longer. I lack enough vacation time at work right now anyways hehe.
modfanmike Posted August 4, 2014 #10 Share Posted August 4, 2014 It is usually for an inside cabin. You just pay the taxes and port charges and of course the onboard service charges. It will probably be about $800 for 2.
