Sunflower&Scientist Posted August 4, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 4, 2014 Will I have any problems carrying Lancets either on board my flight, or on board the ship? I also carry EPI pens and haven't had a problem flying or going on a ship with those. Doesn't seem a person could do much harm with a tiny Lancet, but don't know if they consider a sharp dangerous. mimimoo2 Posted August 4, 2014 #2 Share Posted August 4, 2014 I have traveled with lancets for my blood sugar machine, and small needles for my insulin pen, and have never had a problem. I do carry a note from my doctor about my need for the meds, but have never been asked to show it. I think you should be fine. Lisa

phnx118 Posted August 4, 2014 #5 Share Posted August 4, 2014 No problems with TSA, and you can email the special needs department at the RC and request a sharps container for on board. I just emailed them for a refrigerator for my meds and a sharps container for my cabin and received a confirmation email that they will be in my cabin. cruisePAC Posted August 4, 2014 #6 Share Posted August 4, 2014 I've also noticed that there are sharps containers in most, if not all, public restrooms onboard.
seaofwonder Posted August 4, 2014 #7 Share Posted August 4, 2014 Nope, never any problems domestic or international. You can ask the steward for a container once onboard. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
simdog77 Posted August 4, 2014 #8 Share Posted August 4, 2014 No problems ever on RCI or Carnival. Been a diabetic cruiser since 2005. Never an issue. They will provide a shapes container on request. No TSA issues either. Enjoy your cruise! Sent from my iPad using Forums mobile app

Ladysilver Posted August 5, 2014 #10 Share Posted August 5, 2014 I've never had any problems bringing my daughters insulin, syringes, lancets or her Novalog pen needles. I've never even had anyone ask about them. :)
smalltimecruiser100 Posted August 5, 2014 #11 Share Posted August 5, 2014 (edited) You should not have any problem. Special needs dept can provide a sharps container if you contact them early enough.
