Rh2458 Posted August 23, 2014 #26 Share Posted August 23, 2014 Believe me , we have no problem protecting our children.I just didn't want to have my husband have to get into it with 20 guys. He did have to a bit in the casino when they started harassing our friends 30 year old girls. I also told them if they didn't leave them alone I would call security. And they didleave them alone after that. It was just very unpleasant passing their open door stateroom 15 hours a day with music blasting and drunken men for 5 days. And as for my daughter telling them where to stick it- she is a very beautiful, tall blonde who is very young in many ways and didn't even realize how they were looking at her. I guess that's where my momma bear instincts kicked in. Plus she doesn't have nearly enough experience dealing with older men to even know how to begin to handle herself. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to suggest that you would have a problem protecting your children. Because someone questioned me never having a 17-year-old so I don't know what it's like I was trying to explain I in fact do have two daughters who have gone through that age and men ogling them (they are also beautiful blonds-one shorter though, the other tall). My mamma bear instincts would kick in too, but what I found is they actually could handle themselves quite well in those types of situations. In fact better than I expected they could. Again sorry if you misunderstood my comments.

marcimm Posted August 23, 2014 #28 Share Posted August 23, 2014 My 21 year old daughter looks young for her age. When men make unwanted advances or comments towards her, she tells them, "I'm 17," and they just go away! She tells me it works like a charm every time. buddylover Posted August 23, 2014 #29 Share Posted August 23, 2014 I can't believe there are a bunch of drunken partiers on Carnival. It's a family cruise line  No need for your sarcasm.....we have seen drunken partiers on EVERY cruise lines....and yes, families sail on them ALL!! sjn911 Posted August 23, 2014 #30 Share Posted August 23, 2014 Lol on reference to a "fanny pack" or not understanding colloquial terms...condoms taped on the door combined with that kind of party scene should definitely get the attention of housekeeping all the way up..pronto. Yes it is everyone's responsibility to report...but come on..it does sound like a college dorm or frat house more than a cruise ship. Sorry op. sanmarcosman Posted August 23, 2014 #31 Share Posted August 23, 2014 Thanks for the report! Which incident was worse in your opinion, the sign on the door or the contraceptive device left hanging there for all to see?
Rare ReneeFLL Posted August 23, 2014 #32 Share Posted August 23, 2014 ........I think it is very important for folks to remember that staying silent can lead to all sorts of worse problems!!! Bingo!!!! OP I am glad you and your family are fine. I hope your daughter was not aware of it as to make her feel uncomfortable.
Cushing985 Posted August 23, 2014 #33 Share Posted August 23, 2014 Sounds unpleasant but I didn't read any reason you felt unsafe I guess I'm not getting that part. I get it...it's called crowd mentality! Same thing happened a few years ago with the Tailhook convention in Vegas. Get a few stupid, drunk guys together and see what happens when a girl walks through.
Cushing985 Posted August 23, 2014 #34 Share Posted August 23, 2014 Most cabin stewards are not familiar with colloquial English and would not be likely to pick up any lewd written references. Should the British crew call out any guest who references a fanny pack? Fanny packs should be illegal!
