7 Mile Beach - Shopping?

Hello - never been to 7 Mile Beach. Coming in on Royal Carribean in a couple of weeks... just my wife and I. I'd like to spend some time on 7 Mile Beach, but, my wife isn't super keen on spending a lot of time in the heat/sun. Is there local shopping nearby? Not mall-type shopping, but, local crafts/wares/etc stuff? If so, is there a certain area of 7 Mile that we should ask a taxi driver to drop us off at?

Thanks!

Ken

Right across from the tender dock is shopping...sort of a small "downtown" setting. Easy to walk about...the town is very clean! No need for a taxi at all...just stroll about! There really are no "local" wares...GC is a very "bank oriented" island...banking capital of the Caribbean...expensive!

You don't need a taxi for the beach, either....buses run regularly, and it's $2.50 pp...they will drop you off all up and down 7 Mile Beach...there will be buses waiting to bring you back, too!

Didn't really see shopping in our area on Seven Mile Beach. Very hot in the sun.

Water was nice.

Two chairs and umbrella were $20. Don't know if that was US dollars or Cayman Island dollars, if CI dollars, then about 25% more expensive. We walked down the beach until we found shade and sat on our beach towels.

Shopping is in town, near the tender docks, but not arts and crafts.

Grand Cayman is expensive and not the place to look for arts and crafts. We bought Hermes eau de parfum and L'Occitane en Provence products cheaper than in the US, but we found later that they were even cheaper on our cruise ship, MSC Divina.

It is easy to take a bus (a minivan) to Seven Mile Beach.
