Cruise4fun! Posted August 26, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 26, 2014 I wonder what is the price from the International Airport to waikiki? I checked on taxifarefinder.com, the price is around 70 bucks, whereas other website usually say the price is around 30-35? The difference is huge. What is more reliable? Can anyone please share your insights?
punkincc Posted August 26, 2014 #2 Share Posted August 26, 2014 I think around $30 to $35 is most accurate. The porter at the Hilton Hawaiian Village told us as he got a taxi for us, that it was a flat fare of $29. When we got there it was around $32 or $34, so don't know if it was fees added in or if the taxi driver was taking advantage. Of course, it will vary based on where you are going in Waikiki. HHV is close to the airport. There are private shuttles you can take for around $15 per person. May be cheaper depending on your party size, but taxis are super convenient and easy. Courtmatt Posted August 27, 2014 #4 Share Posted August 27, 2014 We used Charley's Taxi from the airpot to Waikiki for a flat rate of $29. We set it up before hand, then called when we got our luggage and they met us at the curb. They were so prompt, friendly and courteous, we used them several more times while we were in Waikiki. Rare cruiser2015 Posted August 27, 2014 #5 Share Posted August 27, 2014 Book ahead with Hawaii23 ($23 flat fare) or Johnnycab ($25). We used Johnny as Hawaii23 was not available. Metered taxis will cost more. We went to the port and post cruise to the airport on the meter. To the airport he added a fee for our 2 large bags - driver from hotel did not. The rest depends on the traffic.

How far in advance did you make your reservations? Thanks!:p

Courtmatt Posted August 29, 2014 #8 Share Posted August 29, 2014 I too had the same "no response" which is why we went with Charley's Taxi. I'm a planner and like to have everything organized well in advance. Charley's emailed me back within 24-48 hours! Have a great trip!

Freehike Posted September 11, 2014 #10 Share Posted September 11, 2014 I too tried to book Hawaii23 for our upcoming trip. Emailed them twice and never got a response. I'll try Johnny. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
Dreamer115 Posted September 13, 2014 #11 Share Posted September 13, 2014 I'm another that didn't get a response from Hawaii23, very unprofessional and will not use them or recommend them. I will be trying johnnycab or another for sure. Has anyone tried Waikiki shuttle. I was going to try them. We leave in 2 weeks so need to get something set up. Freehike Posted September 14, 2014 #12 Share Posted September 14, 2014 I emailed JohnnyCab and got a response within a few hours. Nice to deal with. Only thing is the rate is $30, not $25 like someone else said here. For $30, you could just get a cab since it's the same rate. Dreamer115 Posted September 17, 2014 #13 Share Posted September 17, 2014 We are now booked with Johnny cab. Very quick and very professional. Although it may be cheaper with a regular cab it could be a lot more depending on traffic and I like the fact I know there is someone waiting for me when I get there. 1st time in Hawaii Posted September 22, 2014 #14 Share Posted September 22, 2014 I booked with Hawaii 23 - flat rate of $23 from airport. Had a confirmation with flight #, time, etc. Apparently, there was some mix-up and no one was there to meet us. So when I called to say I was outside waiting, he sent another cab. I would highly recommend calling Mike from the Green Cab 808-393-0907 He gave us great service and a better rate from hotel to cruise ship, and cruise ship to airport than other rates I have seen posted. Tell him the couple from Florida recommended him. BTW, the cabbies have a "network", they will call friend or cousin, if they can't meet you at the designated time and charge the agreed upon fare. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD I suppose they bumped their price up - but I think it is still the best choice. Regular cabs will probably come in at a minimum of $30 - if they don't add the luggage fee (posted on the cab's dash sign, about a dollar or so each). And if you hit a traffic jam, the price goes up and up from there. Lock it in!
Dreamer115 Posted September 24, 2014 #16 Share Posted September 24, 2014 I got my response quickly from Johnnycab as I said and booked them in greatfully. Now I got a response from Hawaii 23 with 2 days to go until we leave. I responded thanks but no thanks as they took too long.
