Upgrading Cabin

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone!

We have a oceanview cabin that we booked a couple of months ago. We want to upgrade the cabin to a balcony cabin. We booked through a travel agent. We are on RC Navigator of the Seas.

Any suggestions on how to get an upgrade to a balcony? There are still rooms available.

Thanks everyone!

Since you booked through a TA they will have to handle the upgrade for you. Assuming there are no restrictions regarding the upgrade, just call them and tell them what you want to do and they can take care of it for you.

It is unclear if you want to pay for a balcony cabin or are asking how to get one free. If you want a balcony call your travel agent and you will have to pay the going rate.

If you are asking for suggestions on how to get the cabin for free that is another story. All of us would like to know that.

If that is the case the non-revenue upgrades are indeed far and few between and usually intended for RCI Crown & Anchor Pinnacle and Diamond Plus members first in order of tier level and seniority within each tier. As most cruises sail full or nearly full, the number of available staterooms to upgrade someone to are very limited. As others have said, a free upgrade is not something I would be too hopeful for.

You can always ask at check in or once on board to see if there are any remaining staterooms available in a category higher than yours to upgrade to, but usually RCI will charge the difference in your paid rate and the new category. Although they can be offered as a non-revenue upgrade, these upgrades also are not usually free.
