Nāmaka Posted September 1, 2014 #1 Share Posted September 1, 2014 If you have a coffee card, can you use it in the MDR at breakfast, lunch & dinner to get the fresh brewed coffee? Or can you only use it to get things like Cappuchino's & Lattes? thanks :)
Rare Kinkacruiser Posted September 1, 2014 #2 Share Posted September 1, 2014 As far as I know, brewed coffee is available on request in the MDR. You don't need to produce your card. Outside the MDR, you have "free" brewed coffee from the IC or Patisserie, providing you have a coffee card. I would get a Cappucino for my husband and a brewed for myself for one punch on the card. By the way welcome to Cruise Critic, Namaka. Cheers, Anna
Rare geoherb Posted September 1, 2014 #3 Share Posted September 1, 2014 I think the coffee card in the dining room is only for the types of coffee drinks that cost extra--the ones you mention and other espresso-based drinks . Some people think the coffee in the dining room is OK. It's not fresh brewed but rather starts as a concentrate.
Colo Cruiser Posted September 1, 2014 #4 Share Posted September 1, 2014 I agree, unless your wait staff walk to the fresh brewed location they don't have any in the DR.
bigenna Posted September 2, 2014 #5 Share Posted September 2, 2014 Do they really mind getting your specialty coffees for you in MDR? I have always hesitated to ask as even getting one of the regular coffees seems enough work, they are always soooooo busy. I just feel that the MDR staff are already so hurried, I hate asking for anything out of the ordinary that will really interrupt their usual flow. Nāmaka Posted September 2, 2014 Author #7 Share Posted September 2, 2014 My husband orders a cappuccino in the MDR every morning at breakfast and evening after dinner without any issues. That is what I will probably wind up doing. I love my cappuccinos! :)
dorisis Posted September 2, 2014 #8 Share Posted September 2, 2014 Your wait staff must go to the IC to fill your order. it may take a little longer.

EdmPair Posted September 3, 2014 #10 Share Posted September 3, 2014 Note to bigenna: The staff are there to serve us and that can include you. Ask for what you want. When it gets unreasonable, they are to take the issue to the supervisor. However, a specialty coffee is not outrageous at all. So ask. (And face it, Princess will charge you more for that double decaf mocha latte with not too much foam and a dash of cinnamon.) Stay caffinated, M

jacketwatch Posted September 3, 2014 #13 Share Posted September 3, 2014 When I had the coffee card the wait staff would get me the premium brew from where I don't know but they did every morning.
PghCruiseGrrrl Posted September 3, 2014 #14 Share Posted September 3, 2014 I order an espresso with Disaronno in the MDR all the time. By the third day of every cruise my underwaiters have always caught on and asked "Espresso with Disaronno tonight Madame?" before they even give me my dessert menu. They don't mind at all.
