GonnaSailtoo Posted September 3, 2014 #1 Share Posted September 3, 2014 Hello Cruise Critic Members, You helped me out so much with my last cruise - I thought I'd ask another quick question. I might go again! But I need to know if FOWARD inside cabins are noisy. I've never been in a forward cabin at all, but I do know that the entertainment venues are in the forward part of the ship--and they are loud. I'm looking at Deck 6 or Deck 9 forward. Anyone know if that would be noisier than the aft of the ship?

cruisingsince94 Posted September 3, 2014 #4 Share Posted September 3, 2014 I would choose deck 9. It will be noisy on deck 6.
dacsmom Posted September 3, 2014 #5 Share Posted September 3, 2014 I would also choose deck 9 because you have cabins above and below you. The only thing I noticed about forward cabins is a vibration when dropping the anchor. But the advantage is that you know when you have arrived. More likely than not unless you are referring to a tender port, it is not the anchor dropping that is causing the vibration - and any associated noise - but the bow thrusters engaging as the ship maneuvers into the pier. That being said the anchor certainly can be noticed as well when being dropped at tender port. :) Edited September 3, 2014 by leaveitallbehind

OfTheSeasCruiser Posted September 3, 2014 #11 Share Posted September 3, 2014 I would definitely choose deck 9. Deck 6 is close to the entertainment and public spaces. We always stay in a balcony in the forward section and were never bothered by motion more than anywhere else on the ship.
peter1975 Posted September 3, 2014 #12 Share Posted September 3, 2014 My philosophy is "There are no bad rooms on a cruise ship". You're on a cruise for crying out loud!

Deck 6 is actually a more central location. You're not too far from anything you want to go to: Pool deck several decks up, entertainment and dining within a deck or two away, muster station a deck or two away, debarkation at ports a few decks down ... ;)
