kitty9 Posted August 15, 2005 #3 Share Posted August 15, 2005 You can take out up to $2000 per day in the casino on your shipboard account. You can take this out in cash or chips, and there's no service charge.
canderson Posted August 16, 2005 #4 Share Posted August 16, 2005 Can you purchase casino chips using you on board account? If yes is there a service charge?Actually, it's a great scam, and some take out the maximum in cash every day up to their credit limit whether they gamble all that much or not. Why? Miles and points. Just be sure that if you do it this way, you've secured your payment for your sign-and-sail account with a credit card that gives miles. The transaction will show up as a purchase rather than a cash advance, so you'll be credited for your miles. One would at first think that the casino would be taking quite a hit on their margins by doing this since, as the 'seller', they pay the credit card company for the transaction -- but if you look at the odds on their video poker machines, you get a fair idea of what the house expects to clear on average! I find the whole thing a bit strange!
