CarnieAddict Posted October 14, 2014 #276 Share Posted October 14, 2014 The ship is lighter then the NCL Getaway but holds more people. I hope people won't be packed in like sardines.
kwazi07 Posted October 14, 2014 #277 Share Posted October 14, 2014 That's still a lot more passengers than before. You're right, that's almost as many as Oasis' max occupancy and Oasis is 225,000 tons.

Tons are not weight, in regard to cruise ships. It is the cubic feet of revenue earning spaces (AKA passenger space). This does not include crew space or engine rooms. CarnieAddict Posted October 14, 2014 #279 Share Posted October 14, 2014 It will be interesting to see the floor plans. Regardless I still can't wait to sail on her.

OK so if this is the case, the Vista will have less cabin space than the Oasis by over 100,000 cubic feet with almost the same passenger size? I admit I have no idea, so I'm asking. I also don't know that I'm interested in a ship carrying that many passengers.
CarnieAddict Posted October 14, 2014 #281 Share Posted October 14, 2014 It holds more than the Epic. Pretty sure the only ships holding more passengers will be Allure and Oasis.
andy.capitan Posted October 14, 2014 #282 Share Posted October 14, 2014 Oasis is 6298 I believe. Vista is closer to Quantum except won't be headed to China.

kwazi07 Posted October 14, 2014 #284 Share Posted October 14, 2014 Carnival has an issue with low Pax space ratio, especially compared to Royal.
trvlgirlmq Posted October 14, 2014 #285 Share Posted October 14, 2014 I really hope they don't compromise on cabin size. One of the really big things that keeps us from trying the other lines is how small the cabin space is. Four people in 185 sq ft is tight enough but I have seen cabins as small as 121 sq ft holding 4! Yikes! We do spend a fair amount of time in our cabin so that is something we would consider. andy.capitan Posted October 14, 2014 #286 Share Posted October 14, 2014 Passenger space ratio is one of the more meaningless numbers, unless, perhaps, you are interested in how high the ceilings are in the shopping mall.

kwazi07 Posted October 14, 2014 #289 Share Posted October 14, 2014 What do you mean? There Are more people per ton than on royal. In other words, there are more people in a similarly sized ship on Carnival. Sent from my phone, sorry forbl any typos.

kybluecruiser Posted October 14, 2014 #291 Share Posted October 14, 2014 4988 passengers? So that doesn't include crew? Whooa. I hadn't heard that figure before. That could be passengers and crew.
Rare jimbo5544 Posted October 14, 2014 #292 Share Posted October 14, 2014 That could be passengers and crew. I believe that the Dream class were around 4600 so 49 and change could be true.
CarnieAddict Posted October 14, 2014 #293 Share Posted October 14, 2014 I believe that the Dream class were around 4600 so 49 and change could be true. The Breeze holds 1386 crew and 3690 passengers and is 1300000 ton. That number of people on the Vista must include crew and passengers.

Rare jimbo5544 Posted October 14, 2014 #295 Share Posted October 14, 2014 The Breeze holds 1386 crew and 3690 passengers and is 1300000 ton. That number of people on the Vista must include crew and passengers. The 3690 is based upon double occupancy but I would think the logic would be the same, so you are probably correct. cjknox Posted October 14, 2014 #298 Share Posted October 14, 2014 The 4000 passenger capacity for the Vista is a double occupancy figure, and the total capacity will be about 5000.
