IslandBound79 Posted October 14, 2014 #26 Share Posted October 14, 2014 We booked a condo on Airbnb for our cruise in March. For $130 CDN I couldn't pass up having great views, free parking, wifi, free laundry, two bicycles, two paddle boards and even a kitchen if I feel like making anything! I've heard great things about Airbnb from friends and when I looked into hotel prices for this trip I down loaded the app and just loved the options of properties in our price range! I can't wait to wake up to watch the Manatees swim from our patio (or anywhere in the condo!!!)
3kids1dog Posted October 18, 2014 #27 Share Posted October 18, 2014 We wanted to stay on the beach, so I bid in the Isla Verde area. It actually wasn't a name your own price but an Express Deal (or something like that) where they show you the property amenities (but not the name). And it was $130.00. I think it was 4 star. Good luck!
waterbugohio Posted October 28, 2014 Author #28 Share Posted October 28, 2014 Still haven't found a hotel. Hotwire and Priceline both have express deals, but I'm pretty sure they are both the Radission. There has been quite a few not so good reviews on the radission. While I'm not picky on a room, I do want it to be clean and thats what there reviews talk about, dirty rooms. Hoping to try the bidding the day after thanksgiving and maybe have some luck. Coral Princess and Best western are both booked. May also have to look into the Comfort Inn. While I don't mind paying over $200 for a hotel that I have time to enjoy, I don't really want to spend that much when we won't be there long.. PegV420 Posted October 28, 2014 #29 Share Posted October 28, 2014 We used Priceline for three nights in August and got The Isla Verde Water and Beach Club. I bid 4 stars and was pretty sure this was what we would end up with. Paid $120 a night and then had resort fees to pay when we checked in. Funky hotel that is literally steps from the beach. Great price/hotel. We have also gotten lots of good deals on priceline when bidding San Juan. But we have never cruised March before. The rates on hotels are crazy during spring break. First we paid twice what we normally have for airfare and now will be paying $$$ for a hotel the night before. Will keep searching. Anyone else get anything good for March??? waterbugohio Posted November 29, 2014 Author #31 Share Posted November 29, 2014 Just booked my rooms for March. As suggested on this thread, I came home from a long day of shopping and decided to look for hotels. Went on Priceline and I guess I could have tried a bid again on a 4 *, but I saw a express deal for 4* in San Juan for the night before our cruise. (3/21) for $137. (plus tax and resort fee) Jumped all over it and ended up with the Sheraton convention center. Looks like an awesome hotel/casino. The last time we cruised out of San Juan, it was in the process of being built. Has anyone stayed there??? Assume we will be able to wake up in the morning and see the ship??
