grannyk Posted September 26, 2014 #1 Share Posted September 26, 2014 Does anyone know how HAL handles yours shipboard account on back to back cruises? On Princess they carry everything over and settle up after the last cruise, on Royal Caribbean they settle the account at the end of each segment. Does HAL carry it over or settle after each segment? SilvertoGold Posted September 26, 2014 #2 Share Posted September 26, 2014 Your account gets carried over to the second segment. However, you have to "close" the first segment, meaning make sure all the charges are correct, because they won't make corrections after the end of that first segment. CruiserBruce Posted September 26, 2014 #3 Share Posted September 26, 2014 Assuming you are on one booking number, you will get a statement at the end of the first cruise, but you don't have to settle up until the end of your second cruise. RuthC Posted September 26, 2014 #4 Share Posted September 26, 2014 I had one instance (it was a Collectors' Cruise, which is not quite the same as a b-2-b, but should be processed the same when paying) when I was given the choice of rolling the account over, or closing it out and starting fresh. Krazy Kruizers Posted September 26, 2014 #5 Share Posted September 26, 2014 HAL has back-to-back cruises and Collector Cruises. If you booked your cruises with 2 different confirmation numbers you may or may not get the first segment account carried over to the next cruise. Before HAL started Collector Cruises -- many times our account was closed at the end of the first cruise even though we had been asked if we wanted it to be cared over to the next segment. Collector Cruises -- 1 confirmation number and only 1 bill.
grannyk Posted September 27, 2014 Author #6 Share Posted September 27, 2014 Thanks, We have the cruises booked as separate segments so guess we should plan on them not carrying over any credit or balance to the second cruise. Ellen
kakalina Posted September 27, 2014 #7 Share Posted September 27, 2014 If you play in the casino at all you will have to close out the casino account the last night of the first cruise. Back to back or collector's cruise they require it. We've had to do it on both type cruises.
Rare Crew News Posted September 27, 2014 #8 Share Posted September 27, 2014 (edited) On all six our B2B cruises, our accounts were carried over as well as any remaining OBC from the first week. Your internet account will also be carried over but you must notify the Internet Manager to ensure that it happens. Our carryovers were with separate booking numbers and one with a change in cabin/category (Alaska 2014). Only a single statement at the end has ever been received although we could have had one printed whenever we wished. take us away Posted September 27, 2014 #9 Share Posted September 27, 2014 You can stop by the front desk and make arrangements for however you want to settle your bill: per segment or at the end of both. It has been our experience that the bill is carried over until disembarkation. Your room key card will have your sailing dates which is a good indicator of when you will settle your bill.
