cruisecritiquer Posted September 30, 2014 #1 Share Posted September 30, 2014 I am an early to bed and early to rise. Every time I cruise I have plans to go to all of the parties and live it up for once. But, I never make it because my circadian rhythm dares me to defy it. This time I'm really really really going to AT least go to the glow party and the 80's party. I just wonder how many people are still out enjoying cruise night life when I'm snoring by 11:30PM. What's your bed time when you cruise?
rhinomike Posted September 30, 2014 #2 Share Posted September 30, 2014 Usually in our cabin by 10 and in bed by 1030. But I'm up at 6 and my wife's up at 7.
CasinoCruzGirl Posted September 30, 2014 #3 Share Posted September 30, 2014 I'm pretty much an early riser so I'm pretty much exhausted by 11 pm.

pieshops Posted September 30, 2014 #5 Share Posted September 30, 2014 My wife and I always say we are going to go to the late night parties, shows etc but it never happens. Always Asleep by 10. It is so bad that when they used to have the traditional midnight buffets we had a wake up call to the cabin so we could go.
yogi636 Posted September 30, 2014 #6 Share Posted September 30, 2014 We usually don't do the late night party's. As much as I hate to admit it I am at the age that I NEED to get my rest if I'm going to go all day. Never thought i would feel that at 49 y.o. i would be saying need my sleep. Even if going all day includes lounging and drinking by the pool. :) We will be on the POA on the 11 of Oct. which is a very port intensive cruise. I hope my body can keep up! NoleMini Posted September 30, 2014 #7 Share Posted September 30, 2014 Take an afternoon nap on the days you want to absolutely stay up late- I have trouble staying up on a cruise- the nice motion just rocks me to sleep, so I schedule dinner, the show, and whatever is EXCITING (no violin music, thank you) to keep me up and going until whatever party.....:D
Golfgrl1911 Posted September 30, 2014 #8 Share Posted September 30, 2014 (edited) When I'm solo usually 10ish. When with family or others late! But always up for sunrise!! Edited October 1, 2014 by Golfgrl1911
russianmom Posted October 1, 2014 #9 Share Posted October 1, 2014 This past week we were up at 6am for room service and watching the sunrise. Then in the cabin by 10 and asleep by 10:
quillwercruisers Posted October 1, 2014 #10 Share Posted October 1, 2014 We always say that we are going to stay up and hit the parties, but we usually don't end up making it that late. :o But we are going to have more sea days than usual on the Getaway, so maybe we will be able to this time. :D
adivineeternity Posted October 1, 2014 #11 Share Posted October 1, 2014 It depended on the night, what we did during the day, and the next day's activities and desired wake-up time for us last week. Some nights we were out by 10 or 10:30, others we stayed up until midnight. Neither of us had any interest in the late night parties, we just enjoyed sitting on our balcony with a book, tea, and each other. And no, we are not 70-somethings. We just act like it sometimes. We like our peace and quiet, both of which we found plenty of during the cruise.
FF Woman Posted October 1, 2014 #12 Share Posted October 1, 2014 Oh thank goodness. I thought we were the only ones who crash and burn early. We've been on eight cruises and every time we say we are going to stay up and go dancing at one of the clubs and every time we end up asleep before then. But....we are cruising again in January and this time we are going to stay up and go dancing. We shall see.

R<3M2012 Posted October 1, 2014 #14 Share Posted October 1, 2014 Bed time? On a cruise?? Sorry, I don't understand what you're talking about. Haha I totally agree. Usually to bed after midnight and up when the gym first opens in the morning around 6am depending on the cruise line. cruisecritiquer Posted October 1, 2014 Author #15 Share Posted October 1, 2014 (edited) So I see there is a trend with Mr. Sandman winning the final battle between the desire to party and the need to sleep. I'm also glad we aren't the only ones. My husband grew up on a farm so early to bed early to rise has always been his way. I, on the other hand, was used to waking up to loud sea lions at 6 in the morning so I learned to go to bed early because there was no sleeping in once the sea lions decided it was time to get up. lelder1 Posted October 1, 2014 #16 Share Posted October 1, 2014 I have been on 3 cruises and we always say "gonna stay up late" and never do. I am going to try the nap advice on the Epic in November!
cb at sea Posted October 1, 2014 #17 Share Posted October 1, 2014 When we go to North Myrtle Beach, and go to the dance clubs, we stay up late every night. On a cruise, the music isn't normally that exciting, so we hit the hay around 11-12....
DMH15 Posted October 1, 2014 #18 Share Posted October 1, 2014 I choose to retire early and rise early to hit the gym, shower, have breakfast and go to trivia. It is what I like to do. So I do exactly that. Let others party the night away if that is their idea of what they desire in a vacation. Isn't it great a cruise can appeal to all of us? We went on this cruise last November. It was awesome but I think the latest we ever stayed up on that one was 11pm! Even my 24 and 26 year old daughters (who are always up late partying) couldn't stay up past 11 :). I asked my girls if they wanted to go to the white hot party since they usually go, but they said no...too tired! We were up and moving early every morning. It's a great trip! Enjoy! dos equis Posted October 1, 2014 #23 Share Posted October 1, 2014 Usually out until 1 or 2am, then back up around 9am. There is always one day on every cruise where I just pass out at like 9pm though. That's what vacation is all about!

Rare conandrob240 Posted October 1, 2014 #25 Share Posted October 1, 2014 It totally depends. On Epic Med last year, we had so much to do we were in bed by 10pm or so. There was also little going on at night. In May on BA, most nights I was up and out in the casino, a bar or a party until around 1am every night. 3am 1 or 2 nights. So fun! I loved my quiet dark little studio room! On BA again in November- family trip and I am not looking forward to,sharing my room! LOL
