Casino Program Changes

Recommended Posts

That would be great as NCL has the best and most generous casino program at sea. I am constantly being offered free cruises from them and have never even sailed with them before. I think they are linked somehow to my local casino and get player info from them. Would love to try one of the haven suites, but they have no 5 port Caribbean itinerary as of right now.

So if they go the NCL way what will I get that I do not get already?

Interested to know.

Currently get:

Free drinks all cruise

Free bottle of wine wherever we eat

Speciality dining of our choice

%%% discount on Cabins

Free cruises

Free entry into tournaments

OBC, recurring cruise after cruise

Lifetime membership.

What would NCL offer me above the listed.

Happy Days! 💰💰💰💰🃏🎲

Oh wow! I didn't even know there WAS a casino program. TELL ME MORE, TELL ME MORE.

Here is the current program, however it sounds like it will be changing:

Here you go

To possibly get an invite from Casino Royale

Play:

$50 per hand at Blackjack

$25 per spin on Roulette

$3 per spin on Slots

With on average 4hrs playing time in casino each day.

This would get attention of Casino Manager, and kindly ask to be rated.

Hope this helps!

Be lucky😄

Thanks so much. Looks like I would easily qualify and should have in the past but the previous flyer says a minimum of $5/bet on slots in which case I would not qualify. VERY interesting indeed.

It's probably better that I DIDN'T know that. I tend to spend a lot of $$$ and time there anyhow!

It's definitely based on PLAY vs LOSSES. I've often gotten around $1,000 rebate and I sure didn't bring $10K to donate to…. I mean SPEND in the casino!

I've found Celebrity's program to be more generous. No "coupons" for drinks. They put a sticker on your card and you show it to them and you get as many free drinks as you "need." THey didn't pay attention to my name, just caught site of the sticker. (they also have their own Blue Chip Club card).

I've been on several "free" (hahaha I know I paid for it w/ my gambling) cruises. Usually 7 days in either Concierge or Aqua class… once only in an inside… I must have been slipping. I get occasional emails from the Blue Chip club offering a series of free cruises.

Oddly I didn't get the email that the OP mentioned. But I was in touch w/ the CLub Royale rep this past week to find out what my rebate would be for my upcoming November cruise. I was told I had 2 unclaimed rebates (how in HAIL did i let that happen  ) but that since they were over a year ago, I'd only get it at a 50% rate, along w/ the 100% rate for my April 2014 cruise.

I have to say when I was "invited" on Celebrity first, and then on RCI, I thought… "hmmmm maybe I have a gambling problem!!!" I was sitting there (can't remember if it was a table or a machine) and the casino hostess came over w/ an envelope.

BTW if you belong to Celebrity's gambling loyalty club, there is no reciprocity w/ RCI's and vice versa.

I think you would get the same, but they are a lot more generous with the free cruises from what I understand. Not sure about the obc though as I have never sailed with them. Royal is definitely one of the chintzier lines when it comes to casino comps, even Carnival is more generous. I haven't sailed with Carnival since 2006 and still get cruise offers for a free suite from them every once in a while.

Also, NCL is constantly sending me offers for free 7 night cruises in a balcony cabin with no restrictions except for holiday blackouts without ever setting a foot in their casino. The best I got from Royal was 75% off and only on certain dates and ships. I'm not a huge high roller, but easily exceed the requirements for the program and on occasion suffered pretty significant losses. Hopefully someone at RCCL finally woke up and realized that casino players are probably one of their most profitable demographics and they need to step up their game. There is a lot of info about the NCL program on the cruise casino board if you want to check it out.

I think it's great that they are enhancing the program, but they shouldn't short change us on what we have already earned. The goodwill they would receive by honoring the rebates earned over the next few months while they are implementing the new one, would certainly outweigh the consequences of dealing with a bunch of irate gamblers who all of a sudden find their rebates null and void 8 months before the normal expiration date.

I was told the rebates could be applied towards a Celebrity cruise. I've never tried, but am wondering now if I was told wrong. Maybe the new program will be applicable across all lines now which would be great as I've been wanting to try Celebrity.

Does anyone know the play out based on slot points. I wonder if you had 5000 points on the slots what the rebat would be?

Thanks

5000pts would be $100 only redeemable on your sailing at cashier desk

Points expire once your Seapass is diactivated on disembarkation.

Thank you for the information, will look into the NCL program.

Agreed RC should put in place something for a rebate earn't before March 2015

If VIP,s have accrued 💲amounts. And are not planning to cruise to use.

Maybe an OBC/NCC style of payment with no expiry:)

MN1111, yes the rebates can be applied across the lines. They told me I could pick up my RCI rebate on my Celebrity cruise (or maybe the other way around).

But your play on one ship doesn't qualify you for membership in the other line's Casino Program. I wasn't very clear on that.

I did ask and was told that no, I had to be invited to the RCI program based on my RCI play. It only took me about 2 days, but I was hoping I could have the free drinks and the comped specialty dining etc. So it's not automatic that if you're in one program, you will be in the other.

I too received the email and called with some questions. From what little they did share (and also slipped January 2015 should be when new program details are released) it sounds like new program will be points based like land based casinos. I was just on FOS last week and had the VIP sticker on my card to unlimited free drinks, which was very nice and wasn't tracked by anyone that I could tell ( a couple times they asked for my first name but that was all). Also you need to ask for comped speciality restaurants and wine to be comped..they seldom offer it without asking I've found, but once you ask after started to play in casino it's covered without question.

I find my rebates roughly what my points accumulated were on sailings, regardless of win or loss on the trip, i.e. 7,000 points usually yields $700-750 cash back, 5000 points = $500 rebate, etc.

Also in addition to comp cruises for tourneys, and 25-50% off most cruise fares, just this week I happen to call and inquire about upgrading my three upcoming fall 2014 cruises from balaconies...to my surprise I was awarded upgrades to a JS on two (including one on Quantum) and the other to a GS....total cost??? ...only $350 total for all three and after final payment! :) I about hit the floor lol

So if you have a paid cruise coming up before YE and an active, frequent CR VIP member, I'd certainly call about upgrade potential...u never know what deal they'll make you! I heard from several of the reps they have new higher comp rates for active players for sailings thru YE

This is all interesting to read. As I said we are somewhat new to the program. We probably don't drop what others do....but we are perennial losers. My comps on land are much better than on royal; however, Royal doesn't really advertise the discount room rates.

Points - I never cash out my points because I was told by a manager that I needed to leave them on there to get my rebate as the rebate was based on the points.

My rebate vs. points never matches up. My rebate is higher than my points.

I guess I'm mostly just peeved at losing the rebate I have :(

Cashing out your points at the cashier's window the last night for cash back or RCL shirts/caps, etc. has nothing to do with calculating your rebate...ALWAYS cash in your points by the end of the last night for cash back, free slot play , gifts, whatever....leaving the points on your seapass just means your losing out. 1,000 points = $20 cash back for get your $$ :)

Totally agree with you txcowboy10, points have nothing to do with rebate, entirely separate entity.

Points for the main are calculated from slot play.

Some people get the points confused with the VIP program, anyone can get points from using seapass card inserted in a slot to track play.

They do not have to be VIP

These points will also not mean you are a VIP member, and as you have concurred, use them or lose them, they cannot be carried over to another ship.

Just like chips, they are exclusive to each ship.

The rebate part is in our experience accumulated from playing $50 a hand at Blackjack and way in excess of $25 a spin on roulette.

In addition to high $ slots.

Also interesting we get comped more when we win. This is the factoring process, they comp you as they want another chance at your money.

This is how the comp system has been explained to us over the years.. Give the casino a chance to win your money.

We will continue to give RC a shot at our money, just hope the new program is as good as is or better for us members.

All be lucky

Happy Days!😃

Ugh that is annoying. We've left a bunch of money with the points. The manager on the allure told us not to cash them out because it would affect the rebate.

I'm sure I've also left money on the table by not calling and booking my cruise through them.

That is what they tell you. But I had one cruise where I lost 4K and I know I bet a ton more (was up and down and was in casino for 7 days). Got a $425 rebate.

Next cruise was $1300 that was lost in two days with no jackpot (just horrid losing). My rebate? $130.

This last cruise we played about 6 days and lost 3K. Our rebate was $325.

I'm not sure it's based on points. Cruise 1 had more than 4x the points of cruise 2.

Idk....it always seems to be 10% of losses for me, so I use that as my ballpark.

As for drinks: our last cruise did not have our name on them. So they wouldn't be able to track them.

Kinda what I have lost in the past at the casino, and my rebates have been at least 300 to 400 more than what you have posted?

I hope you You win soon and get a rebate , Ex. Host gives you 4 coupons records that 6 nts 24 drinks 5$ ,120$ no name needed host knows who host gave them to.

I know this because I gamble with a big drinker,Our handle is about the same in course of week, his is probable bigger. My rebate is always more (win lose or draw )

But if your saying the casino host knows exactly how many laminated coupons they give you per cruise you are wrong.

I just got off the phone with club royale and was told that the rebate program is going away and being replaced with something "better". The person I spoke to had no details though and said there won't be any until early 2015.

I asked if the rebate we would earn on our upcoming Nov 1 cruise would count towards the new program or old and was told that we would earn a rebate on it based on the current program, but it would have to be used by March 15th. I definitely have no plans to cruise again by then so am basically going to have to forfeit the amount. It would be a little more fair if they would let us take it off a future cruise to be booked by March 15th. I usually get back anywhere between $600-$1,000 so it's a nice chunk of money that I have them take right off my cruise bill.

I'm not too happy about this as the awards are already pretty meager compared to land and even other cruise line casinos as it is, without them taking things away. Hoping with the new rules they will at least give us double odds on the crap table. I will definitely be gambling a little less on this trip though.

Neda

Doing a B2B in Feb. Kinda know what I should get back in rebate cash, lets see if I'm close. "Better" is good right?...:)

Really? We're pretty bad losers....we don't win a lot, just seem to always lose. What kind of points are you racking up? Our 3k loss was only netting us about 4000 points.

I know land casinos know exactly what your losses are versus total bets. I've had them tell me the exact amount I lost over a weekend. That seems to be what the land casinos care about more. In Vegas we've always been told that we need to bring X amount to be comped.

That is your opinion and if you believe that to be incorrect then OK

But having been a member since the program started I know and as others also concur 2000pts =$40 so 5000 would =$100

Points on seapass card have nothing to do with future rebates.

Use them or lose them.

At the cashiers desk you will see a flyer, it breaks down gifts and cash payouts for points.

Nothing to do with VIP program, as anyone who has used their card in slots to be tracked can utilize this little perk.

Remember double points between 09:00-11:00am every day:)

Future rebates are calculated by pit boss, Casino Manager as they rate, track and record your down payment, winnings and losses each day.

And as others have also agreed with anywhere between 10-20%.

Although we have always received higher than this.

I also quoted conservatively you need to be spending 5k, to,get anywhere, on that assumption you would get around $500 rebate for next cruise.

Example, we had a bankroll of 18k did not lose all and we won here and there

My next rebate for cruise, With ZERO points because I cashed them out as you have to, my rebate is $1400.00, my wife's rebate is $950.00

She also has ZERO points.

So here you can see we are comped by play not by points.

Happy Days!

On next cruise we will use the houses money ( our $2350.00 rebate), and see what we will spend dependent on the new program, as we are not going to lose any future rebate if it expires by March 2015.

As always be lucky!!
