Anything special about Noordam?

We'll be on our 7th HAL cruise in December... our 1st time on Noordam. Does anything special stand out to distinguish the Noordam from our favorite Westerdam? Or would you say they are really pretty much the same. (I know all the Vista class are basically similar.)

Explorations Café, Internet and Library are on the Promenade Deck instead of being located in the Crow's Nest. Thus the Crow's Nest has seats everywhere for complete views.

On the deck above the Crow's Nest Club Cabana has been added.

On the Observation Deck where the Crow's Nest is located, more cabins have been added.

pretty much just what KK stated above. Depends on where you like the Explorations Cafe. It's more spread out on Noordam but I like the way it is setup more on Westerdam and the rest of the Vista/Signature ships.

Ocean Bar is configured a little bit different (layout), Pinnacle Bar is a little bit different (decor).

We've been on all the Vista and Signature class ships, many multiple times. As KK and others say, we like the layout of the Explorations Café and the library better than on the other ships. It's very quiet and relaxing. We also like the décor more than many other HAL ships.

Noordam is our favorite ship. We were on her in January for an 11-day cruise again and when we found out she would be heading to Alaska in 2015, we booked B2B cruises for May 2015 on the Noordam.

Like you, we have been on the Westerdam multiple time and also enjoy that ship. We will be on her in January, but looking forward to May 2015 for our sixth Alaskan cruise in seven years.

Noordam will go to Australia after next year's Alaska season.

I know Sail. We decided against taking another Alaska cruise after we disembarked the Zuiderdam in May. We've taken Alaskan cruises five out of six years, and wanted to take a break for a couple of years of that itinerary.

After we found out that the Noordam would be replacing the Zuiderdam, we booked Alaska again.

So much for our plans!

I believe it was you posting many times in the past how much you enjoyed the Noordam and why. Once we were on ship, we felt the same way.

Hope all is well!

We've done some research, since we're on Noordam in 3 weeks!

there are a bunch of Youtube "tours" uploaded, but we've found this one to be the best (despite the overpowering music played thruout).
