lfk60 Posted November 12, 2014 #176 Share Posted November 12, 2014 That would be really fun! I am a little bit jealous. Charo probably looks the same? :D I have read that no one really knows about her actual age because she has lied to make herself older at one time and now she lies to make herself younger. Charo did look the same!!! :D I've heard 63 and 73 for her age, so who knows! It was a great cruise, but too short and work got in the way of a b2b at the moment. jenseib Posted November 13, 2014 Author #178 Share Posted November 13, 2014 We then headed outside to enjoy the night air. There was a window into Sabatini’s (I believe) so I looked in and took a picture.
jenseib Posted November 13, 2014 Author #179 Share Posted November 13, 2014 Back inside and I took this picture, which I think is near the theatre. We then decided to head back to the room. Best part of a cruise…chocolates on your bed. Why doesn’t that happen at home? We each had a Princess tote bag on our bed as well. That was really nice. Princess gave them to everyone. They are like the kind you use for grocery shopping and I am now using it when I go to the store….when I remember to bring it in that is.
jenseib Posted November 13, 2014 Author #180 Share Posted November 13, 2014 Mom was ready for bed but I wasn’t, so I headed back out. I sat down for a bit and saw “M” again (the one who wasn’t happy with being on the ship) and she was talking to people and she started talking to me as well. Her son “JJ” was there and I believe her daughter “A” was there as well….both adults. We talked for quite a long time and did a lot of laughing. Being that they live in FL they were very familiar with Disney and I always love a good Disney conversation. I really had a nice time just chatting away, but it was getting late and eventually we all said good night and headed to our cabins. So far I was really enjoying the cruise. My biggest issue was that it was so hot….inside and out. Our room was still hot and I had a hard time sleeping that night because of the heat. The mattress was very comfortable though and I was happy about that as I heard they are hit and miss with Princess. I mainly slept with my feet out of the covers to try and keep cool. The staff was friendly but many at this point were not on the same level as Disney friendliness. It did seem over the next few days though the staff seemed to get friendlier and warm up more to people. The show was nice, again not a Disney level show, but not many are on cruise ships. We enjoyed it though and the comedian was funny. The food had been good and plenty. And I really did take it much slower on this ship than I do on Disney. I was having no regrets sailing this ship. WaggesAZ Posted November 16, 2014 #181 Share Posted November 16, 2014 I hope all is well, I have missed your updates! I have been following along as we are sailing on CB in March, and this a great review. I noticed you had many photos of the ship general areas. I am hoping you could answer a couple questions. I see on the deck plans that there is a sports deck. I have tried to Google photos of the area, but cannot be sure I have found any of the ship specifically. I wondered if there was a large chess set (it might have been on another deck) as well as if there is a basketball court/hoop. Did you happen to go into the the golf area and was it mini-golf? We are sailing with our 2 sons who will be 12 and 19 in March. They like to do more than play video games, so it would be fun if there was something we could do outside in addition to hanging by the pool, it would be great. Thank you! I'm still around, just been super busy with life and work. The golf area was pretty lame and I think I have pictures of it the next next once I get that started. Very small area and I would call it a putting green. I can't remember off the top of my head of there was a basketball hoop or not. I want to say yes, but if so I can't remember where and I might be thinking of another ship. I don't remember seeing a large chess set either. it could be I didn't go in that area or I am just drawing a blank. Maybe as I edit my pictures I will miraculously see it. ;)

I know people who are die hards for carnival and others who won't step on their ships at gun point. I am usually pretty open and will try different things, some I like, some I don't...I did like Princess, but definitely when it came to service they weren't quite as good, but that could be just this particular ship/staff. jenseib Posted November 17, 2014 Author #185 Share Posted November 17, 2014 Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2014 A Day at Sea I always wake up early on vacation. I just don’t want to miss anything and my body won’t let me rest too long. I was so hot during the night, so I got up and threw on some basic shorts and a tee shirt and went for a stroll. I also planned to stop at Guest Services to see about my missing questionnaire that I was to fill out along with inquiring about getting a fan in the room. It was already shaping up to be a beautiful…and hot day. I was kind of shocked that this area wasn’t cleaned up better from the night before. The ship wasn’t dirty, but I felt this area lacked care a lot of the time and again, I compare things to Disney and it would be rare to find it looking like this on one of their ships. I noticed land off in the distance. There was a CM standing along the railing and I asked if that was Cuba and he said yes he was pretty sure it was. We sailed along Cuba most of the day. It sure is a big country. I continued to walk around the decks to check things out. A little too early for beer. I need to eat pretty early or I get a headache so I stopped off in Horizons and got a few items. The sausage was not real pork sausage and was kind of gross. As I found a seat I realized the Caribe Café was also open in the back and they served real sausage back there.
jenseib Posted November 17, 2014 Author #186 Share Posted November 17, 2014 I took a few pictures of their offerings, many were the same or close to the same, but it all looked better back there. After I ate, I headed out to the back of the ship. I just love seeing the wake of the ship.
jenseib Posted November 17, 2014 Author #187 Share Posted November 17, 2014 I kept thinking after I got home that I never saw a sunrise or sunset, but I lied…..I did see one and it was very pretty. A few people were out and about this morning. This little pool was up on deck 17 I believe. I don’t know if anyone ever went in it. It was in an odd spot and I never saw many people in this area when I walked through, though I didn’t come through here too often.

lynwar Posted November 17, 2014 #189 Share Posted November 17, 2014 Thanks for your last installment. I'm still in PCD after my Sept 2014 cruise on this ship. Many memories. We did see people in that pool up on Deck 17 in the afternoon. It's near the kids club, I believe, but there were adults in the pool. It was a well kept secret. LOL. Someone else might know more about it. The Terrace Pool, aft, was our favorite spot on the ship. We have similar photos of that area and sunsets, etc. It was fun to revisit the Caribbean Princess after a 10 year break. Now, I'd like to see her once more, before we move on to other opportunities. The Regal could be next- "the new ship in town". LOL. We've never been on a Disney ship but if my son and family decide to take a cruise on one, I'm all in. My grandson is now 6. However, we will have to save our pennies. The biggest asset is that there would be no casino to tempt us. ;) Thanks again for the updates. Did you take any photos of the entertainment on board? You and and another fellow who is posting took a lot of food shots.... See you again, I hope. Lynne
WaggesAZ Posted November 18, 2014 #190 Share Posted November 18, 2014 Lovely photos once again! I enjoy your photos and attention to detail. Thank you for trying to recall what you saw, if you happen if you come a cross photos, great! However, I would say as humans in general, we look for what is of interest to us typically, so it is completely understandable! Thanks again for continuing, I appreciate it greatly, especially since I know it is hard once we go back to reality!! :D
lynwar Posted November 18, 2014 #191 Share Posted November 18, 2014 I want to add that I do appreciate all the photos and effort put into them. It's hard getting back to reality following a cruise, depending on how it goes. There are some that are so pleasurable that we wish they could continue well past the time we had on the ship. After not really thinking about this ship in 10 years, and after getting reacquainted with the smaller atrium than the newer ones, it was very enjoyable to be back aboard. I still correspond with folks from that 2004 cruise. Cruises are what we make them and we haven't been overly disappointed yet. My husband tells me each year that we're going to skip a year, so, OK, but then it is he who starts searching for the deals. LOL Now, I'm the one with the PCD and he's moved on--until the next one. He knows I'm ready to go again now that it's on my mind. Goodnight for now. Lynne

I am still editing pictures and lately just haven't had much time to do so...but eventually I'll get to it. I heard a rumor that Princess is selling this ship in a few years, so be sure to get on her soon again. It's funny, as on Disney I never miss the casino, but we did have fun in the one on this trip. But it is not a draw for me. I do like that soft drinks are included on Disney too. It took me a while to get used to it not being included on Princess, even with my package. I have lots of pictures of the shows....and food too. So many people want to see what they offer so I often try to take food pictures. But I also know people want to see the entertainment as well, so I try and take those when I can as well.

Juse a few minutes here and there, but I hope to get another update in the next day. I totally agree. You can make or break a trip yourself. If you don't want to have a good time, then you won't. Of course bad things do happen, but it's how you handle them that helps your enjoyment too.
lynwar Posted November 19, 2014 #195 Share Posted November 19, 2014 You are doing a wonderful job. We take several pictures but never do anything with them. I enjoy coming here and other posts to see what's new. No problem. I'm enjoying seeing the ship when I can. I even watched her sail away on the webcam on Saturday. We're getting many offers through the mail and from different venues concerning great deals for Caribbean cruises, this ship, included. I may have to wait until after the holidays and then revisit the possibility of one final cruise before her transatlantic in April. The entertainer I like will be off again from Dec. 22 until Feb. Then on to April. I would like to go in that time frame. However, he's doing a special cruise in January 2016 and that's another goal if we or I can afford to go. However, reservations would need to be in way before then. We'll see. It will be on another ship. So, take care for now. We're on your time!! jenseib Posted November 21, 2014 Author #197 Share Posted November 21, 2014 I decided I wanted to check out Skywalkers while it was empty. I headed inside to get up to the right floor. jenseib Posted November 21, 2014 Author #199 Share Posted November 21, 2014 I got a little startled when I realized I wasn’t alone in there. I almost walked right on someone sitting in a chair reading a book. They were so quiet that I never even realized she was there till I walked practically right on top of her. But I can understand why she chose here to read. She was looking out the aft window and it was so quiet and peaceful.
jenseib Posted November 21, 2014 Author #200 Share Posted November 21, 2014 With that I headed out. I thought about looking to see where the kids clubs were located as I had seen signs for them, but for some reason I decided to pass on that for now and headed outside. I never did go and find then and I never made it back to Skywalkers, even though they had some elite events there. I just never had enough time and it wasn’t a priority for me.
