ncklhaus Posted October 19, 2014 Author #51 Share Posted October 19, 2014 Thanks so much! Do you happen to have the missing page 2 of the Day 3 dailies? The page that details the tender ticket process for the next day in Great Stirrup Cay? No, its there. I just reorganized them so they're in the correct order.:)
ncklhaus Posted October 19, 2014 Author #52 Share Posted October 19, 2014 I might be going a little batty from too much research, but I swear your Day 4 is dated NOVEMBER 8, 2014. I was looking specifically for Day 4 because it is my big birthday (on our week) and others have reported it's the fireworks day - YIPPEE! Three weeks from tomorrow we will be boarding and honestly, if we just circled around NY Harbor for 7 days, I'd still have a great cruise! At least I won't be at work on my birthday. Thanks for posting these Joann. Nope, you're not batty! The 3rd page of day 4 IS labeled November 8, 2014. It has got to be a sign that you are going to have a fantastic cruise. You should probably hit the casino that night! My friend hit for $20,000.00 on her cruise in July, maybe you will be the next big winner.

alangford03 Posted October 19, 2014 #54 Share Posted October 19, 2014 Did you go down to the lagoon on GSC? Do you have to walk or is there transportation to it? Seems quite far of a walk on maps. Thanks!! Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Seems quite far of a walk on maps. Thanks!! Sent from my iPhone using Forums We had a cabaña at the lagoon. I highly recommend one. If you look at the pictures you'll see why. They do have a tram that runs every 15 minutes or so. We were at tram stop #3, cabaña #19. A bit further down (walking distance) is also another beach and a buffet with bathrooms. dvond Posted October 19, 2014 #56 Share Posted October 19, 2014 These were great, i had a few questions and wondering if you or anyone recent had an answer; The Slide Spider Mountain does not seem to be open all the time, is this something special It says you can reserve a tender time on TV...is this true? Never been to Great Stirrup Key but looks to be spread out, what seems to be the best and no so crowded spots Curious what the price is for NCLU tastings? Thanks again! Never been to Great Stirrup Key but looks to be spread out, what seems to be the best and no so crowded spots Curious what the price is for NCLU tastings? Thanks again! I don't know about the Slide Spider Mountain. I never even saw it, but then again I didn't look for it. The ship is so large, it is easy to miss things. I knew there was bowling in O'Sheehan's, but I didn't actually see it until we were on line to disembark. Yes, it is true you can reserve a tender through the TV, but I did not. We had a cabaña so we had priority tender. If you reserve or book any excursion, it is my understanding that you get priority tendering. We have been to Great Stirrup Cay twice before this trip. Each time it has been more and more built up. The first time, the tenders didn't even have a dock. They just pulled up as close as possible to the beach and we had to wade through the water to the beach. Last time there were docks and you just walked to an area on the beach. This time, they had really built it up. I suggest taking the tram to at least stop 3 (where the small cabañas are). The beaches are clean and not crowded. There are plenty of lounge chairs, and it is close to bathrooms, a bar, and another buffet. You are not close enough to hear the music from the main beach but that's part of the draw to the quiet beach area. I'm not sure about the NCLU tasting, but I think I may have seen a sign for a Martini tasting for $15.
Rare conandrob240 Posted October 19, 2014 #58 Share Posted October 19, 2014 Yes, $15 for tastings Spider mountain is a web climb thing sort of behind and under the ropes course. Maybe opposite mini golf. It is next to one of those bungie trampoline things. Yes, they are only staffed limited hours which is sort of silly. They do look fun for kids. ncklhaus Posted October 20, 2014 Author #60 Share Posted October 20, 2014 thanks to both of you What tram stop has the music, can you walk the island or have to tram? You'll hear the music when you get off the tender. The further younger, the less music you'll hear. You can definitely walk the island but I strongly suggest wearing shoes. We left our shoes in the cabaña and walked to the other buffet. Wow, my feet were hurting. Water shoes would be best, but the water itself is not nearly as rocky as I had heard. I just don't like the feeling of seaweed and other icky things under my feet. I must say the water at Great Stirrup Cay is fabulous. Its mostly clear and warm. Friends of ours said it was the best snorkeling they had done. There are some things that were purposefully sunken for snorkeling. They even saw a barracuda! You can snorkel wherever you want. You can bring your own or rent it on the island.

carontori Posted October 20, 2014 #65 Share Posted October 20, 2014 Did you make reservations for dinner? I have always just gone whenever I was ready but have noticed that you can now book your time. Do you have a long wait if you don't reserve? What about the shows at night? Are reservations necessary? Thanks for all the time and effort you have put into posting the dailies, its been great to check them out!

Thanks for all the time and effort you have put into posting the dailies, its been great to check them out! We did make reservations for most nights in advance. We were also able to change reservations the same day. We has reservations for Teppanyaki for Monday at 6:15, but we were invited to the VIP Captains Reception for the same time. I only saw the invite at 3pm and had no problem changing it to 7:15. We also had reservations for Cirque for the 8:30 show on the first night. I highly recommend making those. As for the others, I can honestly say I never saw a restaurant fully booked and we never waited for a table anywhere.
