suzyluvs2cruise Posted February 13, 2015 #76 Share Posted February 13, 2015 (edited) This is one of the things I'm wondering, possibly the current Quantum cast don't want to go to Asia, or the new Quantum cast is learning a different show in order to cater for the different market. Either way, Mamma Mia casts Quantum contracts are up in May and they are departing the ship in Barcelona, and that's come from their own mouths. The current Mama Mia cast will have been onboard since November....it makes sense that they will be departing in Barcelona. There will be a new cast for Mama Mia on Allure......and they're probably preparing at RCI's rehearsal venue in Florida. The cast implied they were training to replace them on Quantum not to go to the Allure however Ken didn't mention Mamma Mia at all during Captains Corner although really seemed to be trying to push the Sequins show. He's departing in a few weeks so he probably doesn't know much about what's going to happen.

Agree.....:) When we were on Quantum we talked to the Production Manager. He told us that Mama Mia was going to Allure in May when Quantum docks in Barcelona after her TA. Allure will then be in drydock in Cadiz. Edited February 13, 2015 by suzyluvs2cruise
FUN33 Posted February 21, 2015 #82 Share Posted February 21, 2015 Just noticed something very interesting on my Iphone this morning. When I opened the official "Royal" app and went to "Our Ships" - Quantum is now showing two separate "Deck Plans". One is labeled 02-November-2014 to 24-April-2015 and the second deck plan is labeled 02-May-2015 to 15-Jun-2015. I have looked at both plans and so far have not noticed any differences between the two but this is certainly the first time I have ever seen the same ship with two deck plans. In both plans the Music Hall appears unchanged.

Most of the ships on Royal Caribbean's website have multiple sets of deck plans because of cabin reclassifications, etc; however, the fact that this date coincides with her leaving the US, I wouldn't be surprised if it eventually gets updated with the changes. I haven't looked lately but imagine that hasn't changed. They're already lying about the layout of E1s as is, so why not reclassify them as something else they aren't! Ken at the beach Posted February 21, 2015 #86 Share Posted February 21, 2015 (edited) Here is the list of all the changes being made to the deck plans to simplify the booking process. I wonder if this will be in place for the Anthem as well or only for the Quantum and theAsian market. Notice that 8 categories have been eliminated. nelblu Posted February 21, 2015 #87 Share Posted February 21, 2015 Thanks for answering so quickly. Hmm seems a bit odd that the same Broadway show would be on two ships at the same time. In one of the presentation it was said (2/2 Quantum cruise) that Mamma Mia is not going to China and will being replaced with some other production. That doesn't make any sense. The E1's that I saw on Quantum are so much smaller and don't even have room for a sofa. There was only one chair squeezed in over by the window. I actually changed my E1 I had booked on 2 Anthem cruises to DO's. Maybe I should have waited I could have switched to a regular D1 cabin.
penrod Posted March 27, 2015 #89 Share Posted March 27, 2015 Hi all, I am on the Quantum of the Seas from Dubai to Singapore in May and have posted on that thread as well. The other day I got an e-mail from RCI saying that my cabin had been changed from deck 13 stbd side to deck 13 pt side, same size and grade, no explanation, no apology. The cabin had been booked nearly a year ago. Following telephone calls and an e-mail enquiry, I received an e-mail back from RCI saying that ' because of the casino expansion my original cabin would be unavailable'! Can anybody think of a rational reason why work on the Casino on decks 3 and 4 could make a cabin on deck 13 'unavailable,?

thejewgernaut Posted March 27, 2015 #91 Share Posted March 27, 2015 Or just a "ripple effect" maybe and they're calling casino expansion the reason for all the cabin changes? For cruisers who aren't on the Boards or paying attention, "casino expansion" is probably as good an excuse for most people as any.

nelblu Posted March 28, 2015 #96 Share Posted March 28, 2015 They've only just built her and they're changing her already? Does the casino need expanding?? Chines are heavy gamblers and smokers, and maybe part of the expansion is to simplify/protect non-smokers from smokers. My understanding of the casino expansion would be to the Music Hall. Not sure wether it will also impact the D club.

ChipLondon Posted March 28, 2015 #98 Share Posted March 28, 2015 Rational Reason.......The Contractors working on the changes are going to use that cabin block  Hi all, I am on the Quantum of the Seas from Dubai to Singapore in May and have posted on that thread as well. My understanding of the casino expansion would be to the Music Hall. Not sure wether it will also impact the D club. The Chinese really don't care about separating smokers from non-smokers. The casino expansion is to allow for private high-stakes rooms, which are popular with the Chinese public. I believe most of it goes into the theater, as they are also not so interested in the shows as Westerners.
azlozi Posted April 10, 2015 #100 Share Posted April 10, 2015 (edited) Received this email today at 17:08 Re the Dubai to Singapore Cruise As we make our transition from the United States to China we will be doing some enhancements onboard to prepare for our arrival in China. Due to the extent of the work required in certain areas, some venues will need to be closed while these improvements are taking place. Music Hall will need to be closed for the duration of your sailing. The live entertainment usually presented in Music Hall will be relocated to other venues in the ship. “Mamma Mia” will not be in production during your sailing in order to prepare for our new show “Sequins and Feathers.” However, the theatre will be open and providing a variety of world-class guest entertainers Emperors of Soul, Westcoast and Masters of the House as well as our own singers and dancers. In addition, Johnny Rockets will be closed for some improvements, but you’ll still be able to enjoy hamburgers, hotdogs and fries at the Windjammer Marketplace or the poolside grill. North Star also will be closed for the first five days of your voyage, but will then open for regular operation for the remainder of your trip. The casino also will be going through a series of enhancements and will be closed for the first seven days of your voyage. A new and expanded casino will be available for your enjoyment on June 6, 2015. As a gesture of goodwill, and to thank you for your patience with the closures and your understanding regarding the work that may be visible from time to time, Royal Caribbean International would like to provide you with an onboard credit. This credit will be automatically applied to your onboard account. You may spend these credits at any venue on the ship – from the spa and shops to the specialty restaurants, bars, lounges, and the casino – and on shore excursions. The choice is yours: Onboard Credit Amount per Stateroom Suites (Junior Suites & Above): $1,000 Balcony: $500 Interior and Ocean View: $400 We will do our very best to minimise any further inconvenience to you and our shipboard team looks forward to welcoming you onboard.
