avalon007 Posted December 8, 2014 #76 Share Posted December 8, 2014 That is sad, as I am sure a lot of regional people would enjoy cruising too, especially when working and living on the land a cruise would be a great break for them. WE ARE THE CRUISELINGS :) A lot of us regional people do enjoy cruising! :D We just don't happen to always get the same adverts as you city folk, although I have seen the Royal & Carnival cruise adverts where I live on the far south coast of NSW. Personally I didn't find the P&O advert any big deal having watched the video, but probably because I don't cruise with P&O as I had already decided from their brochures they were not my best fit & because they have a reputation for attracting the more boozy crowd. But I do agree it's a bit of a stupid advert in the part with the food flying about - what's that meant to say? To me it says no matter how you dress them, a bogan is always a bogan. ;) Maybe P&O stands for 'Painfully Obvious' as to the crowd they are trying to appeal to? Billy and Charlie's Mum Posted December 8, 2014 #77 Share Posted December 8, 2014 So, another benefit of living in regional NSW - NO CRUISELING ADS here! No Royal Caribbean ones either. We do see some Carnival ones though! Gae Haven't seen them on regional Queensland yet either!

We enjoy P&O and we are the right demographics for them, also our children really enjoyed their children's club activities and always wanted to go back. It is also nice that they restrict the amount of children on board the ship so you know that they will be safe and youth security is always active. I look at the add on the lighter side, and have not noticed food being thrown anywhere on board. It just shows what free spirited people we are. Rare MicCanberra Posted December 8, 2014 #79 Share Posted December 8, 2014 Haven't seen them on regional Queensland yet either! The only ads I see are on FB or here, when I watch TV itis mainly ABC or SBS and when commercial channels, they are recorded so the ads can be eliminated.:D

Docker123 Posted January 20, 2015 Author #83 Share Posted January 20, 2015 One of our admin staff has just returned from her cruisling cruise. Said she loved the islands. Said she hated the bogan overflow, and ended up hating the cruise. A couple of them decided that it would be a great lark to dive off the bow when the ship berthed in some harbour. Alternative transport home was required. Several others were off-loaded at first port of call. Next plane out to Australian via Japan. Very expensive booze up for them. 6666oz Posted January 20, 2015 #85 Share Posted January 20, 2015 Was it specificity advertized as a cruisling cruise ? Thats plain nuts jumping off the ship.
Wyuna1 Posted January 20, 2015 #86 Share Posted January 20, 2015 Our last three cruises have been P&O, in fact our first cruise was on SS Canberra. Our next is on RCI, if P&O believe that this type of advertising will appeal to the majority of the potential market and it's on board experiences I will not br any threat to their loyalty programs. By The Bay Posted January 20, 2015 #87 Share Posted January 20, 2015 On our last cruise from Sydney on P&O, we were held up for 1.5 hours. The Captain made an announcement that "somebody" had been silly. :o He was escorted off by the "men in blue". At least he didn't have to pay for a flight back to OZ.:D

I wonder if any of them ended up blaming the advertisement.:D
