mpoole3 Posted November 23, 2014 Author #26 Share Posted November 23, 2014 (edited) The muster drill started at 4:00, one thing I've learned over the years, is take the longest route possible to these drills. Reason I do this, is because they pack you so tight and it's just an awful experience. Unless of course, you are on the Oasis Class and you sit and watch a short video, in a lounge. then we headed up to the sail away party poolside. Going to be honest, it was pretty weak. Perhaps, I'm just spoiled from the wild parties on the enchantment, but I thought the party was a bust. mpoole3 Posted November 23, 2014 Author #27 Share Posted November 23, 2014 (edited) We hung out until 6:00pm and went back to the room to clean up for dinner. Guess what, STILL NO LUGGAGE! Okay, I started getting a little upset at this point. I went down the hallways looking for it, nothing. No one was even bringing the bags out anymore; I just couldn't understand how mine didn't come yet. I started getting a little hot headed, and demanded someone find my bag. How was I going to the dining room with the same clothes I've been wearing since 4AM? They started looking, but came up empty handed, so I went down to guest services to inquire about my options. The lady actually grabbed a cruise compass and circled the part that said, bags could arrive as late as 8:00PM. I literally lost it at this point and before I said something I'd regret I turned around and walked away. After checking with the naughty room (just in case), I headed back to my room and my bag arrived! I quickly showered and unpacked for the evening. It was 7:15pm, so luckily I had second seating for dinner. I did catch some beautiful views from our balcony! BYE FLORIDA! mpoole3 Posted November 23, 2014 Author #29 Share Posted November 23, 2014 Prior to the cruise I emailed royal and requested a table for two, since I don't get to see my girlfriend that often (we live 4 hours apart). Dinner was less than pleasant to say the least. Our assistant waiter got our drinks and rolls, but we never met our waiter until she came over and said, "I guess it my job to feed you, are you ready to order?!" She was trying to be funny, but I hardly thought so. My past experiences with royal are, an introduction, menu theme, chef suggestions, etc. We didn't get any of that, not even her name. The second and last time she ever appeared at our table was to bring our meal. We never had a check-up to see how the meal was going or to fill our empty water cups. About half was through the meal I just said, "let's go" to my girlfriend. We started to leave and the headwaiter could tell something was wrong and stopped us to inquire. I told him that the service, or I should say lack of service, was unacceptable and we won't be returning to the dinning room. I said, perhaps it's because the ship is coming back from Europe, but he agreed that the service was not up to his standards. He called his boss the dining room manager to come over and talk to us, which I thought was extremely nice. I explained we wouldn't be returning, but he requested we give them one more try, so I agreed we would on Night 3. Are you catching a theme here, late boarding, late luggage, awful - the worst service in the dinning room...

I appreciate that you are sharing your honest feelings, but from the pictures shown you were dressed perfectly fine for the first night dinner anyways, they understand not everyone gets their luggage in time, and you were "literally losing it" 2 hours before they even had said would be a normal time frame? I'm afraid I don't understand why you were so upset at 6PM. I'm glad you caught yourself before saying something truly regretful, it's hardly guest services fault that you didn't get early delivery. If it arrived at or before 7:15PM it was not late. Just luck of the draw. They process thousands of pieces of luggage on turnaround day. mpoole3 Posted November 23, 2014 Author #31 Share Posted November 23, 2014 After dinner we decided to call it a night, I was pretty grumpy form all the events today. Having to wait an hour to board, having to fight for the holiday drink package, receiving my luggage an hour before dinner, and the awful service at dinner. This day was a wrap! But no worries, things are completely different tomorrow!

I know I could have worn my clothes to dinner, but I didn't want to. I was on holiday with my girlfriend for four days, and I enjoy dressing up. I don't judge those who wear jeans to the dinning room, but I won't ever step foot in there with jeans on. That's just part of me enjoy my vacation, cleaning up for a nice romantic dinner. On enough cruises over enough time sooner or later you get your luggage towards the end of day one instead of the beginning. Like I said, luck of the draw. Amagamma Posted November 23, 2014 #34 Share Posted November 23, 2014 Thanks for the review. Will be following along, as we sail on the Liberty next week. Hoping to see that the Quest and Love and Marriage are brought back. Also, interested to whom the CD will be the first two weeks of Dec.
cruzinlady1947 Posted November 23, 2014 #35 Share Posted November 23, 2014 On my last cruise the beginning of this month, I didn't get my luggage until 8pm. My husband got his though. We had the Concierge looking for it. We saw a crew member delivering some luggage in our hallway, but he said that was the last of the luggage to be delivered, but mine was still missing. After much confusion, I finally got it. It is very frustrating, I know. We were one of the first people at the pier, so maybe it is first in, last out. Although we did get our other piece of luggage, with my husband's clothes in it. Only a couple pieces of my luggage in his suitcase. I thought I would have to wear some of my husbands things. :p Glad you finally got yours. Gwen :)
ckrobyn Posted November 23, 2014 #36 Share Posted November 23, 2014 I was on the same cruise! Pretty sure I can see myself in one of your pictures where everyone is standing up to get ready to board :D;) So far your thoughts mirror mine on the cruise, with special emphasis on the dining rooms ongoing issues with service. Just curious - do you work for RCI? How are you able to call and get any balcony you want?
Griswolds Posted November 23, 2014 #37 Share Posted November 23, 2014 There has been alot of talk/rumors about the Coke Freestyle machines being installed on LOS. Can you please confirm if this has happened yet or will be happening soon? Thanks Im also still holding onto hope they will do the Quest in 3 weeks when we sail. Let us know if they do it this week. No freestyle on the LOS. Not sure what the plan is for Liberty, but I do know that freestyle is only going to be installed in ships that are in the U.S year round. That's what I was told anyways... Just curious - do you work for RCI? How are you able to call and get any balcony you want? I wish we could have met! I love meeting people on CC because we will be forever connected. I always over look issues while on vacation, because I'm there to have fun, not to complain. But night one was unlike anything I've ever seen on a cruise. I mean I didn't even get her name, just are you ready to order. I so was embarrassed, because I was talking up the dinning experience so much to my G/F. Believe me they did make up for it, and went above and beyond in days to come. As far as the balcony goes, I have do a lot with their social media teams over the years, so I've made connections. One could only dream of working for Royal. Due note - I've asked before and was told no.
DJan07 Posted November 23, 2014 #40 Share Posted November 23, 2014 My Mom and I were on this cruise, and I thought I saw you at Nachi Cocum but I couldn't confirm it/didn't want to awkwardly say hello! Haha. We had a great time (after a few hiccups) as well. I look forward to reading the rest of your review! mpoole3 Posted November 23, 2014 Author #43 Share Posted November 23, 2014 Day 2: Sea Day (written on day 4 at hoof & claw pub) It's a new day and I'm feeling very refreshed. We placed the room service card outside the door for a fruit plate, coffee, and orange juice. The front desk delivered two bottles of champagne, one for the drink package promo & one for luggage mess. So I thought let's have some bubbles! We popped the bottle and had a perfect morning on our balcony. As these cruises go by I'm enjoying the balconies more each time, but we have a problem, my next three bookings are all inside rooms! mpoole3 Posted November 23, 2014 Author #44 Share Posted November 23, 2014 Sorry but I have to ask....why would the standard of service be less than you expected because the ship was coming back from Europe Great question, was trying to give them the benefit of adjusting back to America and our Style. Perhaps Jet lag? I just hate to complain more than anything, which is why I decided to just leave the dinning room and was questioned on our way out. mpoole3 Posted November 24, 2014 Author #45 Share Posted November 24, 2014 (edited) Next stop was the pool deck, and to no surprise the chair hogs were in FULL force at 8:30AM. With the new towel policy not requiring you to actually check them out people were holding even more chairs. I will say, the pool deck staff was doing everything they could to remove them, but honestly they couldn't keep up with all the hogs! mpoole3 Posted November 24, 2014 Author #50 Share Posted November 24, 2014 After lying out for a few hours it was my favorite time, Johnny Rockets time! The cover charge to eat here is $5.95 and it covers the gratuity. If you ask me that's a steal, but I will say it was pretty empty. I was telling Courtney years ago when it rolled out it was free to eat here and packed. The meal was outstanding as always, but they can only cook the burgers well done, which I don't understand. I did notice they don't rush the fries and onion rings out like they used to, we didn't get them for 10 mins or so, probably to reduce the amount of food expensive.
