Woody bailey Posted November 24, 2014 #1 Share Posted November 24, 2014 Anxious to know if Emerald got out of Bayport?. Seems like a horrible port based on what I'm reading of delays due to fog & wind. That said... some posts think it's on its way.. but the bridge cam says it's still there. Anyone know? ASeaPrincess1 Posted November 24, 2014 #2 Share Posted November 24, 2014 Looks like she's on her way now. We took this cruise last November on CB. Our cruise was the lucky one that got out on time and made all the ports. Other cruises before and after weren't so lucky. They do have a lot of issues with fog and weather at that port. We had to hurry back into port on the last day, arriving in Houston at 1 AM, to miss the storm that was coming in. The next sailing left a little late. It's hit or miss there......
RunnerGirl26.2 Posted November 24, 2014 #3 Share Posted November 24, 2014 Friend of mine has family on this sailing. Medical emergency and had to return shortly after pulling away. They were offloaded and then she sailed.
ASeaPrincess1 Posted November 24, 2014 #4 Share Posted November 24, 2014 Thank you for the update. I hope the person is doing OK. Not a good way to start a vacation. :(

satxdiver Posted November 25, 2014 #6 Share Posted November 25, 2014 South Texas had a particularly bad winter as far as both Bayport and even Galveston. The barge wreck at the mouth to the harbor/ship channel did not help either. Hopefully this winter will prove to be more conducive to ship travel. NCL used the old Houston terminal which is located further up the ship channel for several years before they removed their ship about the same time Princess took their ship away. Now Princess has returned and NCL is returning also to Bayport. Port Houston is the busiest port on the Gulf coast with thousands of ships using it every year. It is a very well used port. Here is a great web site , check out for your self :D , make sure you ZOOM in though because the slip is used by at least 1 NCL ships too http://www.portofhouston.com/cruise-information/live-cruise-terminal-cam/
