belles Posted November 25, 2014 #1 Share Posted November 25, 2014 We are booked on the Breeze this Sunday. My daughter got an email saying Camp Carnival will be closed on the Breeze this upcoming sailing due to a makeover! Isn't this ship only a few years old? It also says it will still operate on a modified schedule and it will take place in various locations.
near the beach Posted November 25, 2014 #2 Share Posted November 25, 2014 It sounds like they are updating the room that Camp Carnival is in. That’s a good thing. However does a modified schedule less hours or just a different location? I guess you will find out a few days. Good luck and have a fun cruise. belles Posted November 25, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted November 25, 2014 I think it means both. I'm surprised it would need updates already. Thanks, we will have a fun cruise!
SunnydayKim Posted November 25, 2014 #4 Share Posted November 25, 2014 (edited) I believe that it will be getting the "Camp Ocean" makeover. In another thread I read a few weeks ago, they did say the same thing happened on another ship but there was STILL Camp Carnival and it was still fun. They just held the activities in other areas of the ship designated specifically for Camp. I think that all of the same (or most!) activities will be held, just in a different location. I will try to find the thread & post it here. cruizinisthebest Posted November 25, 2014 #5 Share Posted November 25, 2014 I seriously doubt camp is closed all together. Probably just modifying the space. Just make sure you go to orientation. The camp activities are always held in different locations throughout the ship anyways. I'm sure your daughter will be fine. Enjoy your cruise! kkettle70 Posted November 30, 2014 #6 Share Posted November 30, 2014 I am so disappointed to hear that Camp Carnival is undergoing an upgrade to Camp Ocean. We will be on the Breeze for Dec 14th. My son was really looking forward to going to the kids club. Does anyone know when the upgrade will be completed? Thanks!
tamirpr Posted November 30, 2014 #7 Share Posted November 30, 2014 That's disappointing. Camp Carnival is huge on the Breeze. I'm surprised they can't do one side at a time so there is always one side open.
kerrilee1121 Posted December 15, 2014 #8 Share Posted December 15, 2014 Does anyone know when it will reopen? We are sailing on 1/11/
poison7fl Posted December 15, 2014 #9 Share Posted December 15, 2014 (edited) Been on a few that were closed, and they do a good job of letting your know where they will be meeting and when. They do the same activities and usually more, but in other areas. Don't worry. Personally, I have always been jealous of the kids making Sundaes and their own pizza! Looks fun. We've yet to use the camp so I'm just curious.
LitchfieldParkCruisers Posted December 15, 2014 #11 Share Posted December 15, 2014 There have been a few threads already on this topic. We were on Triumph the first week of November and Camp Carnival was being re-modeled......all it means is that the camp carnival rooms won't be available. They will just move the activites to another place. On our cruise, they used an area that would regularly be used as a lounge. It was very secure, they moved toys and things into that area for the kids to use, and it was available in the same fashion that Camp Carnival would be. The kids will still have fun, the parents will still be able to drop off the kids and hit the lido deck or casino, and all be right in the world. Just go to the Camp Carnival orientation the first night to get your kids activity lists and you will have all your questions answered. Carry on.... belles Posted December 16, 2014 Author #12 Share Posted December 16, 2014 We were told Camp Carnival was going through renovations on our cruise Nov 30 and the following which was Dec 7. It should be all done by now and renamed Camp Ocean on the Breeze. It was a little disorganized on our cruise but doable
