Coupon book?

If you're a Captain's Club member, you'll get coupons. They actually come on a sheet with perforations, although it's sometimes referred to as a "book". The coupons vary based upon your Captain's Club tier (Classic, Select, Elite, Elite +, or Zenith).

They'll be waiting in your cabin when you board.

It might be the coupon book delivered to your stateroom on the first day. It is usually based on your status. It could be for a free scoop of Gelato, laundry service, internet time, casino credit? Honestly, we hardly ever use the coupons unless we have an emergency laundry need.

We used the $5 match plays at the casino.

The internet coupon was automatically associated with your room, so when you bought the internet package on your device, the coupon was already applied.

There was a photo package coupon, but it did not apply to the sail away special which I booked.

Kept meaning to go back for that free scoop of gelato, but forgot. I have the coupons saved .... wondering if they might work on our next cruise? I stuck the coupons in my travel drawer, just in case :D

It had not yet [per an iLounge Manager]--at least as of early October--been implemented on all Celebrity ships... On some ships, the coupon is apparently still required when signing up for an internet package...

I don't know if the new, easier system has been implemented on Silhouette or not... Don't throw away the coupon until certain that it's not required!

If you are a member of the Captain's Club (sailed with Celebrity before or have reciprocity through RCCL) you will receive a sheet of coupons in your cabin. There is another "coupon book" however, given out by some Travel agents. This is more of a buy something and get something added type of coupon. For example, buy a manicure, get free paraffin treatment, or buy 3 photos get one free. You should get this type of book directly from your TA before departure, although it is sometimes delivered directly to your cabin.

I have traveled with a travel agent group and received a coupon BOOK in the past, which was far different when the sheets of Captains Club coupons referenced by all the prior posters.

The nature of the coupons were to entice "buy ups", for example something like buy a massage, get a free facial in the spa, or buy 1 get one free bucket of beer, or buy 3 photos get the 4th for free.

I didn't find any value or use in any of them. It was probably 16 coupons or so in a small booklet, stapled together. Looked quite similar to the booklet int he cabins that has the pillow menu, special event catering ideas and spa services listed within it.

We are Elite Plus and we LOVE our coupons (which you can't save and use on your next cruise). On our November 15-day Panama Canal crossing on Infinity, the internet coupon was automatically applied. Believe me, we used the more than 200 minutes (EACH) of internet.

I also, always use, the dry cleaning coupon. As soon as I get on board I send my tux out to be dry cleaned before the first formal night. Send it out again before the 2nd or 3rd one. If I get it dry cleaned here at home, it's almost $30 so I love this coupon.

As Elite Plus we get 2 coupons for 30 pieces of laundry. That is a BUNCH! Never realized how much. We had four between us which really means we can cut down on what we pack for a 15 day cruise.

Some of the coupons are easily transferrable. They don't check if you are actually Elite Plus on many. We don't gamble at all and between us we had 8 casino coupons (match play, etc.) that we passed on to a friend that does do the casino.

Used the gelato, and since we didn't have a beverage package on this cruise we used the 20% off on a bottle of wine coupons (we had two each and all our non-wine drinking buddies gave us theirs) almost every night.

Love my coupons! One of the reasons I don't cruise with any other cruise line. Can't wait until I make Zenith. Should be in about 40 years.:D

I've never had issues using saved coupons on subsequent cruises, except for the internet one. They've always ben accepted - 20% wine discounts, free laundry/pressing/dry cleaning, gelato etc. have all been accepted for me. I usually do suites so the coupons are of little benefit for me giant he suite benefits in place, but when I sail in other cabins I use the saved coupons as well as those issued on my current cruise.

You know, we have never tried using them on the another cruise but I was just following the rules. Says right on the coupon, "Good for the current sailing only." Never found a use for them beyond one cruise because what they give me is always plenty for that cruise. Plus, I am a believer that rules apply to me. If the coupon says it is only good for one cruise, then I follow that rule. Guess that either makes me gullible or honest.

Do your coupons not say that? Are there some that are different and don't say "Valid only on the current sailing?" Maybe I haven't seen those yet. When I do, I will make sure and take them to my next sailing. Until then, I will be both gullible (or honest).

Mine do say that.

They also all say they are non transferable...

Funny, mine don't say they aren't transferable. Besides, we only give them to other Elite Plus members. And we trade them. Luckily for us our friend don't drink, so we get their wine but they do gamble so we give them our coupons for the casino.

On the reverse side of the coupons, Every single one says "Nontransferable". A transfer is a transfer, regardless of if the other party is an elite or if they are being traded. It's no big deal to me either way, but fact is they are non transferable, and fact is, they don't monitor it. So feel free to continue to break this rule as you have been doing (and I do myself) and start using saved coupons as well. Or stop trading and giving them to others, and start being "a believer that rules apply to me." :D Me, I'm going to continue to trade and save and use them.

As I was recycling old coupons, I never even tore into my sheets on this cruise, so have scanned the front and back of the entire coupon sheet for anyone who has wondered what specific coupons are included, and to show the language and T&C's of them.

To the OP, most of the replies have to deal with the Celebrity provided discount coupons that you get from being a member of the Captains Club. These discount "sheets" are provided by Celebrity.

From reading other posts, some of the discount booklets are provided by your TA or credit card company. Good to know who is supposed to provide it just in case it doesn't appear in your cabin. If it's from your TA, make sure you bring something (e-mail/receipt/etc) showing what you were supposed to receive just in case.

There was an earlier post (must have been removed because it mentioned the travel agency) where the person was upset that they didn't get their coupon book and Celebrity knew nothing about it. We never heard back from that person but many of us suspected the booklet was to come from the travel agency.
