maggieq Posted January 18, 2015 #101 Share Posted January 18, 2015 If changes are to be made then rccl should explain those changes to its most loyal cruisers. It's about respect.
STANMELB Posted January 18, 2015 #102 Share Posted January 18, 2015 Sailed in a Suite 1-10-2015 on the Oasis. Coastal Kitchen-- Could only order lunch from the menu on sea days. No longer providing free wine and beer during lunch. Still serving free cocktails from 5 to 8:30. Went to the Diamond Lounge on 11 for evening cocktails as the Suite Lounge did not seem as friendly as the Diamond Lounge. As you can see, they are also reducing perks for Suite guests. Dave85 Posted January 18, 2015 #103 Share Posted January 18, 2015 (edited) As you can see, they are also reducing perks for Suite guests. Which makes ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE. I usually cruise in balcony rooms so we can cruise more frequently. However, if we were ever going to splurge for a full suite, it would be on NCL with the incredible Haven amenities, not RCI. I also agree with the other posters that RCI should show a little respect to all guests, suite and top tier loyalty, by clearly stating what is and will be available on Oasis and Allure going forward. If they need to change the programs then change the programs, but keeping everyone in the dark such that they do not know exactly what they are purchasing is 100% unacceptable. Sent from my iPhone using Cruise Critic Forums mobile app Just my opinion... Royal Caribbean is headed in the wrong direction with suite perks. They need to be adding to them, not taking away. I love Royal Caribbean and I think the suites themselves are very nice, but the perks fall far short of what most of the competition offers. Totally agree...communication to ALL passengers needs to be better. It was very frustrating planning a cruise on the Oasis without knowing what would/wouldn't be available. Debde Posted January 18, 2015 #107 Share Posted January 18, 2015 Hi, could you give a comparison of ncl haven perks vs. rccl oasis/allure suite perks? Thanks! Right now, NCL is running a special that all suites and Haven suites receive free beverage and dining package and $300.00 OBC!!! Right there is worth the try!! Yes, I do agree that Royal needs to step up it's suite perks. I'd much rather see suite lounges and CK added fleetwide then have free drinks all day on one ship. My humble opinion of course. Also-the loyalty program really does need change I think as the lounges are way too crowded so change should not surprise anyone. Especially with the introduction of vouchers. If they are not used enough and relieve the overcrowding, Royal will probably make a change that some will not like!! Something tells me opening up more overflow lounges is not what they have in mind.
Dave85 Posted January 18, 2015 #108 Share Posted January 18, 2015 Something tells me opening up more overflow lounges is not what they have in mind. That's my feeling as well. Although the overflow lounges have historically worked just fine, IMHO. Sent from my iPhone using Cruise Critic Forums mobile app

My humble opinion of course. This post just cost me money!:o:D:eek: I have a courtesy hold on an Aft Penthouse on the Jade for the week after Thanksgiving in 2016. The price was reasonable, but when you factor in free drinks, free specialty dining, and $300 OBC, it brings the cost down to $1,040 for an all inclusive week. The way I see it, the worst that can happen is we don't like it and it becomes a one and only.

LOL Actually-I just told my husband about this and looks like I am going to get to see Breakaway sooner then later!!:) To get the OK from him to take the time off from our busines just makes it that much easier now!!!:D It really is a good deal and Royal really needs to get serious on suites or NCL and deals like this will have people looking elsewhere. I did some research on Jade a while back as it was cruising out of NOLA at the time and liked what I read about the ship. I'm a big NOLA fan and sometimes just cruise out of there just to be able to spend a few days in the Fr. quarter!!:o
Rare John&LaLa Posted January 19, 2015 #111 Share Posted January 19, 2015 Has anyone considered that if all of Royals suite customers jump ship to NCL there won't be enough Haven suites to go around.

Hi, could you give a comparison of ncl haven perks vs. rccl oasis/allure suite perks? Thanks! The main difference is the Haven on NCL, and the Yacht Club on MSC are set aside areas of the ship for these cruisers only, and include extra service! On MSC's Yacht Club, and NCL's Haven, call it 'no lines' anywhere, you have you own customer service, you're actually met at the dock, and escorted to your cabin , priority everywhere on the ship from tenders, to the showroom to reservations, you have a 24 hour attendant available to you who can escort you to shopping on the ship. These guests also have their own private bar, private pool, private jacuzzi's, private buffet, and private restaurant! All drinks in the cabin and in the private bar are 'always free'! NCL also offers limo service from the pier to the airport. The idea on MSC and NCL is called 'a ship within a ship'!

When you figure in the extras, personal service, free booze, up scaled private restaurants, they are actually very good deals!:)

Royal doesn't have any deal that compares. Seems like as good a time as any to try NCL in that case.

Probably the only way I would go back to NCL

They need to be adding to them, not taking away. I love Royal Caribbean and I think the suites themselves are very nice, but the perks fall far short of what most of the competition offers. They are going in the wrong direction in so many ways, I'm actually not even considering them for my next cruise in September. That's a first since starting to cruise in 1992. Totally agree...communication to ALL passengers needs to be better. It was very frustrating planning a cruise on the Oasis without knowing what would/wouldn't be available.I agree as well. We were booked on Oasis last November but after so much confusion and not knowing what to expect on-board, I called C&A as asked to be allowed to switch to Allure sailing the next day. It was after final payment but after explaining my disappointment in the rumored changes, changes which weren't public when I booked, they understood and allowed us to switch without penalty. Probably had I known what the changes were going to be up-front, I would not have requested the switch, but then RCCL isn't that forthcoming. critterchick Posted January 19, 2015 #123 Share Posted January 19, 2015 Well it seems RCL is trying to secretly set up a private area like NCL has with 'Haven', and MSC has with the 'Yacht Club' for their big spenders!:eek:They're just not telling the D+ members they're benes. have been 'demoted' so they won't get mad! Hang on Pinnacle, you time to get screwed is coming! It has already begun.
