Retired LEO Posted January 3, 2015 #277 Share Posted January 3, 2015 OMG Gross. I never even considered a robe not being laundered between cruises. Now I am scared. Safe travels. They just go from body to body to body. You never know what you're going to encounter or discover.
Cuizer2 Posted January 3, 2015 #278 Share Posted January 3, 2015 Few years back someone posted they had used a robe and after taking it off noticed a nice 'skid mark'. . Why would someone be driving on a robe?

davekathy Posted January 3, 2015 #280 Share Posted January 3, 2015 And you would be correct. One of my cruises I had been wearing the robe a few mornings. Whatever the reason, I put my hand into the pockets and pulled out an obviously used tissue. GROSS  ! Never touched one of those robes since. Few years back someone posted they had used a robe and after taking it off noticed a nice 'skid mark'. . Crap (pun intended), TMI!
DirtyDawg Posted January 3, 2015 #281 Share Posted January 3, 2015 I really don'r mind people wearing their robes to and from the pool deck. But Please NO lightsabers!
phoenix_dream Posted January 3, 2015 #282 Share Posted January 3, 2015 If teens can wear pajama bottoms anywhere and everywhere, than why can't some of us older folk wear our Royal robes to the pool? I personally, would not, but if someone else wants to who cares??!!:) I think this falls in the 'two wrongs don't make a right' category. Why not? Because it's tacky as can be. But then again, I see any number of tacky outfits onboard and when all is said and done who really cares. I have a good cruise regardless. If you want to be tacky, you pays your money, you take your choices. But there is no question it is tacky IMHO:)
DaniDanielle Posted January 3, 2015 #283 Share Posted January 3, 2015 Everyone can decide for themselves whether it is tacky or not. We have seen worse swimwear than the royal robe!

A2Mich Posted January 3, 2015 #285 Share Posted January 3, 2015 Guess I don't see such an issue if people are making a quick run from the pool area back to their cabins. Would rather people wear a robe than a dripping wet bathing suit. Now wandering all over the ship, at the buffet, bars, shops, etc., that's another story. Mjoellnir Posted January 3, 2015 #290 Share Posted January 3, 2015 Just make your own skidmark, then complain and get a fresh one together with some obc ;-)
fireofficer5 Posted January 3, 2015 #291 Share Posted January 3, 2015 Question for the B2B'ers. Have you ever seen the cabin cleaning staff with piles of robes, like they have sheets and towels? In conculsion, one skid mark wouldn't be so bad, it would be worse with two skid marks, Contact!

awhcruiser Posted January 4, 2015 #294 Share Posted January 4, 2015 Have you personally seen them being laundered? They are laundered the same way the bedsheets are, or do you sleep standing in the corner? ;)
awhcruiser Posted January 4, 2015 #295 Share Posted January 4, 2015 We have a winner. I'm not going to wear those robes ever. I cannot imagine that each of them are pulled out every week and laundered.
HiCSailor Posted January 4, 2015 #296 Share Posted January 4, 2015 Just make your own skidmark, then complain and get a fresh one together with some obc ;-) Guest relations: "Oh, certainly we can give you credit for the skidmarks. Shall we have your new robe sent to you in the Windjammer? Oh, wait... It shows here you sailed on 12/7 and we're not providing OBC for that sailing." HiCSailor Posted January 4, 2015 #297 Share Posted January 4, 2015 I'm not going to wear those robes ever. I cannot imagine that each of them are pulled out every week and laundried. VICTORY for the Anti-Robe party! [emoji126] If you can't convince them it's tacky and low brow, start talking about skidmarks. [emoji372]
SunshineCruiser24 Posted January 4, 2015 #298 Share Posted January 4, 2015 I've gone to and from the pool with no cover up, and in a robe, and wrapped in a towel. I honestly don't care if other people find it objectionable. They didn't pay for my vacation and if they don't like how I look they can avert their eyes.
