Miami info please!

Ok cc family I need a bit of assistance. One day Pre-cruise there will be five of us coming into Miami. We will be arriving early and after catching a nap need help figuring out what to do and most importantly where to eat.

 

We are staying near the airport, should we rent a car for the day or rely on taxis?

 

There isn't a restaurant within walking distance and we are a bit of a foodie group, where is a good place to eat, that won't eat into our cruise cash. Maybe something with a menu online?

For sure rent something for 5 . The cost won't be more than cabs. Where and what you do depends on ages, interests and time of year. Tons of restaurants in Miami and Miami Beach. I'd browse Miami area books or websites for lots of ideas for things to do or to see.

We rented a car before and after our cruise, and it was much cheaper than taking cabs. The shuttle driver at our hotel told us that one cab ride from our hotel to downtown would have been as much as our car rental.

What kind of restaurant are you looking for? Miami can be expensive.

Thank you for the help, we are a group of 5 women in our 50s looking for an early dinner after a long travel night. Coming from Michigan at the end of January so fresh, light, and local for food. Some places seem too trendy and more atmosphere and ambiance than actual food experience.
