I can't wait! I will probably be wearing some long sweater outfit with knee-high black boots.

I am also looking to book the Feb cruise if there is still room.

That might be a let down though. My new reservation yesterday for the mini-suite got changed automatically again- this time to a full suite! :) :D I can't wait to check out the Haven- even if it is only for two days.

You will love the Haven, it is hard to go back to a regular booking after it.

Wow you know what you are wearing.... If I don't make some time for laundry I'll be picking dirty clothes off the floor of my room and packing them.....lol

I was on the phone with my cousin and kind of decided then when we were comparing notes.

lol @ the laundry

I do book through a junket. They are awesome folks. They called for me and kept on top of things until it got settled. They even called me when they notice NCL switched me out again to the suite. I use them for all my cruises and trips to Vegas.

ok we need to talk....I'm done with mine...I just sailed off a crazy email to mine....

I was one foot out the door already because I had been recruited by another junket....but I am definitely in the market....lol

Hi- if you booked through CAS you should have your player's card waiting for you in the room. If not, I suggest marching to the casino first thing and getting a players card.

On the BA, you use the player's card in the machine. I think the room card works too, but I don't use it because the player's card is also my drink card. If you are new, and not through CAS, you probably have to earn some points before you get a free drink card.

You can download money from your room charge straight to the machine. There is a 3% fee to do so.

3 % really isn't that bad....on Celebrity, "home of the casinos that close at 1:30am" the fee is 5%.

The Smithsonian Channel is having another DIFFERENT show about the NCL Breakaway. This is NOT a repeat from the show I posted about in post number 36 on this thread. LAST Sunday's show was about the building of the NCL Breakaway. THIS Sunday's (Jan 18 - 9pm) show is about the maiden voyage of the NCL Breakaway ...

Hi to all!

Will on board tomorrow for CTN! Just have one question. Will I be able to bring small travel type iron? if not, where can I get iron to iron my shirt?

Thanks in advance.

You cannot bring an iron onboard but should be able to borrow one from your steward.

How was the Haven? I'm booked in a suite on 1/30, first time in the Haven. Were there any amenities that were not available for the 2 day cruise?

I have to say- it was nice, but I wasn't really floored with it. I doubt I would pay to be in the Haven. The extra private benefits just do not justify the cost in my mind. I would definitely do suites again on the other class ships though.

The room was nicely furnished. The bathroom had a tub which is a plus. The room, however, was just a bigger balcony sized room, nicely appointed, with the same small balcony.

The courtyard was pleasant. We did use the hot tubs. I can see how it might be a nice place to hang-out during a 7 day cruise, but I can get the same atmosphere on vibe for $79 per person.

The private lounge was ok, like a private sitting area. I get the same at Maltings though and I can people watch. The private restaurant was very nice as well. Just an expansion of the Cagney benefit since you can go for dinner as well.

The staff was super friendly. I only met a butler once, when I called to get some chamomile tea for the coffee-machine. I know the staff was willing to call my butler to delvier food to the room that I was ordering to-go at the restaurant, but there was no need for that.

Unlike the suites on Gem and Spirit, I sort-of felt like I was on a totally different ship. Aside from going to the casino and Moderno's, I really didn't have to go to other parts of the ship and interact with anyone.

I like the suite life on NCL, just can't see the benefits vs cost of the Haven experience.

I have been on Breakaway several times and the slots were much worse this 2 night cruise. I did not see anyone win jackpots and I spent way too much time in the casino trying to get my money back. lol. Still had a great time ship was packed and people were great. I have another one in February and I hope to do better on that one.

I didn't see any jackpots, but there was one Quick Hit machine that was pumping money out left and right on Saturday. I saw the 7 QH get hit twice. There was one lady who won $600 on a bouns round on a .60 cent bet! It also had a few other good onus rounds throughout the weekend.

Oh, the Gold Bar machines which had been like a printing-press of $$ the last few times on the BA were as cold as ice this weekend. Cycled through over $100 with not even a Chance, let alone an actual bonus.

I did have a great time on the ship and in the casino. Was looking forward to the Feb one, but I may wind up going to Vegas instead.

Thank you so much for the information! So other than carrying on your own luggage, all the other Haven amenities were available? Did they bring snacks to the room? Was the refrigerator locked? How did you do in the casino? Sorry for the barrage of questions.

No worries for the questions, that's what the forum is for!

Everything seemed to be available, if you used it. We did carry on the luggage. We were escorted on the ship by the butler, who was nice and carried the luggage of an elderly passenger. bring a bathing suit for the hot tubs since the courtyard is enclosed.

We did get snacks in the room- but I am not sure if they were Haven related. I am Platinum for Latitudes, Golden for Casino and was a CAS guest. I don't know who or what the various snacks were from. There was also a bottle of sparkling wine in the room. The minibar was locked. We just kept the Dr Pepper bottles in the ice bucket with the wine.

The casino was a mixed bag. As a CAS guest, I was there to play but I am not a really big player. Between my husband and myself, we earned about 4000 points maybe. I think I was in the casino on average about 4 hours or so a day. The play seemed better on Saturday than on the first night. There was never a problem getting on any machines. The tables were not too kind to hubby- craps in particular, so he played more slots than usual. I managed to churn my play enough to keep going, without having to chip in too much. Had some hits for like $300-$400 to keep us going. We did lose in the long run, but less than the cost of the cruise would have been and less than a weekend in AC.

Gold Bar Quick hits?

I was upgraded as well to a Haven Suite. I really enjoyed the whole experience. I had been upgraded since the beginning but I didn't realize it because I had been assigned a forward facing Penthouse H7, as part of a mini suite guarantee. I knew the number from the beginning of the week, but I never really checked the location of the room. Turned out to be a suite and I didn't even realize it until I was almost to the terminal.

Had a great time, lost a ridiculous amount of money, but I also felt like I got some great play during the two days.... that last night killed me however......

I think you do get the afternoon snacks, but there isn't any official room service. So no getting food delivered from any of the specialty places on board.

Thank you! I'm glad to hear that it wasn't a problem getting a machine. Like you, I'm hoping to at least win enough to keep me going.

Thanks! That's disappointing about room service; I was hoping to have breakfast delivered.
