Port of call overnight questions

First time cruiser here.

A few questions about ports of call procedures.

I'm going on a 7 day cruise aboard the Carnival Miracle and we will be staying overnight in both Puerto Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas.

Are there usually cut-off times of the latest time at night you can return to the ship?

I know in Cabo the ship anchors and a small boat tenders to and from shore. How do you ask for the boat to come get you from shore?

Do they stop allowing people on or off the ship after a certain time of night?

Also, does the ship remain on Pacific time even while in Puerto Vallarta (which is in the Mountain time zone)?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I can't answer for Puerto Vallarta because the times I have been there we didn't have overnight stays. Just day stops. On my overnight on Cabo, the ship actually left the port and went out to sea overnight. That way the casino and shops could be open. They had a certain time that the last tender left for the ship, and anyone who missed the last tender had to stay overnight in Cabo. Some people planned to do that so they could enjoy the night life. Then the ship came back into port the next morning and left about 3:00 in the afternoon.

We did an overnight in Venice on CCL Breeze in 2012.

The ship stayed docked, the gangway was open all night.

The deciding factor for most was transportation back to the ship.

The Venice people mover shuts down at 11pm.

Were going on a 7 night in Nov. & are staying over night in Puerto Vallarta, but not in Cabo, so I was wondering the same thing. But I was also just wondering what cruise date that you are you going on that stays over night at both ports on a 7 night cruise?

My bad, just saw we leave at 3:30pm from Cabo. That's a bummer...

Looks like we are only staying overnight in Puerto Vallarta from 12pm (noon) Tuesday to 3pm Wednesday then 8 hours in Cabo on Thursday.

I'm not even sure I will want to spend much time off the ship. Who knows?

From everything I have read and seen if you are docked (like Puerto Vallarta) the gangway remains open all night ...but if (like Cabo) the boat is tendered you will be given a time to board they don't run a tender service all night and if weather comes in and cant return the next morning for some reason.....

i did cruise the Mexican Riviera. for the O/N question I cannot answer. For ship Time I can. Cabo is Mountain Time, although the ship will be on Pacific Time (1 hour behind local time). Puerto Vallarta is Central Time and the ship time would be one hour behind local time. you will get a reminder to move watches 1 hour ahead in the Fun Times (Newsletter provided daily).

So always stay on Ship Time and give enough time to get back to the ship.
