jillmom2 Posted January 22, 2015 #1 Share Posted January 22, 2015 On the Oasis sailing April 4th..We are in Nassau on Easter Sunday from 7am -2pm only...Is there anything worth doing? Will most places be closed up being a Holiday?...Is it even worth getting off the ship for such an early and short port of call...( already have been to Atlantis...too short of time this time and not paying those prices again)...other suggestions welcome...for reference two adults and three teen boys 16,17, and 18... We were in Nassau on Christmas Day, several years ago.....almost nothing was open in Port. We walked around for a little while, just to stretch our legs onshore....then headed back to the ship we were sailing on, which was Her Majesty of the Seas. cb at sea Posted January 22, 2015 #3 Share Posted January 22, 2015 Most of the Caribbean is VERY religious...don't expect much, if anything, to be open on religious holidays.
cherski Posted January 22, 2015 #4 Share Posted January 22, 2015 We were there last Easter on a celebrity ship for the same times (as was the Oasis, I think). Nothing we wanted to see was open.
yogimax Posted January 22, 2015 #5 Share Posted January 22, 2015 Suggest a visit to St. Andrews Presbyterian Church (The Kirk) on Easter Sunday, a short walk from the pier.
Cruisin' Again 86 Posted January 22, 2015 #6 Share Posted January 22, 2015 Even on the best day ( weather wise ) sunny, low humidity, gentle breeze, perfect temp. Nassau IS NOT worth seeing, period ! Rude, pushy people, dirty conditions. A poor excuse for a port, great way for all cruise lines to make some port fees and with very little cost to them.
