swaterbury Posted February 21, 2016 #51 Share Posted February 21, 2016 I agree that there would be a loss of privacy with the Cabana staterooms. That's why I booked the Havana Premium Balcony - 7450. Wanted the access and decor/feeling of the Havana, but the luxury of leaving my curtains open and still feeling secure! Going to see if I can find my roll call, now... :D Sara
WhiteOptima Posted February 21, 2016 #52 Share Posted February 21, 2016 I also booked my Havana Cabana balcony way back when the Visa first became available to book. We are on the Nov. 16 sailing and am very anxious to read reviews of those on the May cruises. I also am not happy that 6th & 7th deck rooms have been recategorized to HC rooms. I feel we should have been notified of this change. Now before I get flak, I am not a snob but I booked that area because access was going to be limited during the day and I paid extra $ for that option. And Carnival customer service has no clue what is going on regarding these rooms.

And Carnival customer service has no clue what is going on regarding these rooms. It is only a few aft facing balcony rooms on 6 & 7 that have been recategorized, not the entire decks. So the "private" use of the Havana Pool will not be terribly effected. A few more people will have access. Not anything to "worry" about.
LisaH Posted February 26, 2016 #54 Share Posted February 26, 2016 Maybe the potential downsides will be balanced by waking to the smell of freshly made Café Cubano each morning. We were lucky enough today to change our Ocean Suite to a Havana Cabana suite - got lucky and one became available. I had forgotten about the coffee! We love our java in the morning. Thanks for the reminder. I am really excited about this cabin as it is way out of the norm for us. We have always had a regular balcony to see the water but these cabins look so unique and fun we decided to go for it. My only concern is noise from the outside bar at night as we are early to bed but Carnival does a good job on soundproofing. We might hear some but hopefully not too much. We have 4 cabanas in a row in June of 17! We are excited. Is there a charge for this coffee?
kiefer1130 Posted February 28, 2016 #56 Share Posted February 28, 2016 This could happen, but hopefully parents will watch their children. Unfortunately, there are a few negligent parents and others that let their guard down while on the cruise. Agreed! This thinking reminds me of someone I know. :) Carnival website states that no one under the age of 12 can stay in any Havana rooms
vwrestler171 Posted February 28, 2016 #57 Share Posted February 28, 2016 Carnival website states that no one under the age of 12 can stay in any Havana rooms Just because they can't stay in the rooms, doesn't mean that they can't be noisy at the pool after the 5PM restriction is over. Are kids really in the pools in the evenings? Families usually have early dinner. And don't the pools usually close around 6?
ksmcdonald Posted March 25, 2016 #59 Share Posted March 25, 2016 I'm super excited about our Havana Cabana balcony for our June 3rd 2017 sailing! A little disappointed after reading these threads, I was thinking all the balconies had the hammock, not just the suites! I just booked last night and then found out today. Not a deal breaker, but a little bummed! :( Love the location though, the ships I have been on never had cabins on Deck 5. For evening activities, the Punchliner is one deck down, the casino one deck down, MDR one or two deck down depending on your table location. With having our own pool, will only have to travel up for breakfast and lunch. Thinking of making this a BTB if I can get the time off work. Dunnik Posted March 25, 2016 #60 Share Posted March 25, 2016 (edited) Survey Says: Maybe. My travelling companion would not be able to justify the expense, but I may just buy in and say that the fairy gave us a free upgrade =P However, AFAIK, the Havana lounge area is open to the unwashed masses at night, so if you value a good night's sleep... Then again, it's probably going to be popular, and I haven't booked yet, so my opinion may not matter at this point. In my experience kids are in the pool until they close which is usually around 9-
