katesta Posted January 26, 2015 #1 Share Posted January 26, 2015 Hello My fiancé and I are planning our honeymoon to Europe in July 2016. We are thinking of ending the trip with a 7 day cruise of the Greek Islands. We would like a cruise where we would doc overnight a few times so we can explore at night. Any recommendations would be great. Thanks Kate

6rugrats Posted January 26, 2015 #3 Share Posted January 26, 2015 Most cruises don't dock overnight in several places; that's when they are traveling.
sail7seas Posted January 26, 2015 #4 Share Posted January 26, 2015 If you want overnights in various islands, you really should consider a 'land trip'. That permits you to design how long you want to stay where.
Rare John Bull Posted January 26, 2015 #5 Share Posted January 26, 2015 As other posts, forget the mainstream cruise ships. Consider on-shore accommodation & ferries. Or cruise on a little sailing gullet - they normally carry about 12 to 18 people & you can book a cabin or get together with friends, book the whole boat, & set your own itinerary. This website not a recommendation, just an example pulled from the web http://www.guletingreece.com/ JB :)
SuiteTraveler Posted January 26, 2015 #6 Share Posted January 26, 2015 I think you should consider a Windstar cruise - there is one called "Venetian Passageways" that visits many different ports in Greece that you normally can't reach by a big cruise ship. It doesn't dock overnight, but they do stay in port longer in most cases. It's on the Star Breeze an all-suite yacht - only 210 passengers. This would be similar in feeling to being on the yacht of the mega rich. From $3,999 pp. Don't know if this is in your budget, but if you can afford it this would be an incredibly memorable way to finish out your honeymoon. You could possibly do a chartered yacht - there are some where you only charter 1 stateroom. This is an example: https://www.greeksails.com/en_GB/sailing-holiday-greece/cabin-yacht-charter/
