Without me having to go back and search on my phone, does anyone remember when the 2016-2017 Australia itineraries were released? Just thinking ahead to next years bookings. I think I've finally decided what I want to do for my birthday in 2018. Yes, I know I'm leaping way ahead into the next thread :D

Thank you. Guess we'll see what they do next year. I'm interested in the repo cruise from Australia to Singapore. The Voyager cruise in April 2016 looks kind of blah, but the 2017 one looks much better. I'm hoping for something similar, maybe with an additional port, for 2018.

It will be interesting to see if any deployment changes occur because of the financial troubles in China and rest of world.

Chinese who cruise is under 1 percent of the population.

Any guesses on what Royal would change if any changes did occur?

Maybe they will bring Voyager and/or Mariner back to the US, and then be able to move another ship back to New Orleans.

That's already customized for the Asian market - if anything they'll repurpose Ovation away from China.

 

Hope so - although I think I read somewhere that they are making changes to the original design so it's ready for the Chinese market. It may be easier to change Quantum back. Either way it would be great to see another one of them in Europe or the States.

The 1% cruise on wealth and not income. The 1% got out of the Chinese stock market in January to May of this year and are not taking the big 'hit' that is facing those still in the market.

 

What this actually creates is a situation where the wealthy have a lot of cash on hand and that is easily spent abroad or onboard.

Did you realize that 1% of the Chinese population is just over half of the total population of Australia. :eek:

And it seems about half of those are trying to buy property in Sydney, London or Vancouver at the moment. So, if they take to cruising, they will not just be filling ships sailing from Tianjin and Shanghai.

I'd like to see Voyager back in the states. She could easily be transferred over here, as I don't think she was changed too much to suit the Chinese. Mariner on the other hand... We probably won't be seeing her for a long time.

What all did they do to Mariner?

I believe the changes were related to making more space for the casino. I read that they are using the top floor of the nightclub as casino space, and some of the Lotus Lounge too.

Apparently, the Champagne Bar has been replaced by retail, according to the deck plans.

I forgot, they did add more retail. Apparently, there is a high degree of interest in gambling and shopping on those cruises.

Mariner is on the revitalization schedule for the next round of updates and should enter dry dock on March 27, 2017 as it stands now.

 

I would guess she is getting the deck 12 cabins panoramic cabins among other updates.

Port bookings continue to indicate that RCI will operate all 3 Oasis Class ships out of Florida for the 2017-18 summer and winter season.

 

The Allure gap from late August to mid-November might indicate another European mini-season with Allure crossing to Spain, doing a few short 5 or 7 day sailings with a mini-drydock at Cadiz and then crossing back. The gap is from August 27, 2017 to November 12, 2017.

 

As Allure, Harmony and Oasis all have variable scheduling, this could indicate that new itineraries are in the works and that the ships will not just do a basic Eastern/Western rotation.

I don't understand why RCI aren't sending an Oasis Class to Barcelona in 2017 especially since OA and AL have done well and due to the success of OA class in Europe they are launching Harmony there in 2016. Wouldn't make sense if Allure was unprofitable this year.
