SFplusP Posted February 11, 2015 #1 Share Posted February 11, 2015 A couple half moon cay questions- we have a 5 and 2 year old, does anyone have any recent picture of the kids area? Is it just slides, or is there more? Also, are all the excursions through carnival since it is private? IE is there any benefit to getting off the ship and booking an excursion there, or is it just exactly the same as what I can book on Carnivals website? There are no other people on the island. All employees that aren't from the ship , are bought in by boat. When the ship leaves , the island is basically deserted except for a caretaker. SFplusP Posted February 11, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted February 11, 2015 So no matter when we bought an excursion, it would be from Carnival, yeah? No getting off the boat and tons of private excursion people bidding for you like in Cozumel or elsewhere? We typical go private, but if anything we're doing is through Carnival I may as well book now.
cb at sea Posted February 11, 2015 #4 Share Posted February 11, 2015 It's just like being on the ship....most "excursions" can be booked on the island, once you decide if you really want or need to do it. Things like floats, or snorkel gear do NOT have to be booked in advance...they have PLENTY! You know, this is a beach day, pure and simple...you don't have to book anything, if you don't want to! Loungers are everywhere...lots of different beach areas....sun/shade...whatever you want!
Fourseventeen Posted February 17, 2015 #5 Share Posted February 17, 2015 this place is a super relaxing place. no pressure to book tours like when you get off the ship at other islands. since it is owned by the cruise line the only tours offered at those from Carnival. SFplusP Posted February 17, 2015 Author #6 Share Posted February 17, 2015 Thanks. We're not really beach people, I try and do activities, but all of carnivals excursions have minimum ages the kids don't meet. We'll probably get off the boat, play in the water and sand, have lunch and get back to the boat
anna2 Posted February 18, 2015 #7 Share Posted February 18, 2015 So far our favourite private cruise-island! The water is cristal clear, white soft sand so no need for watershoes and all the peole are very polite. No hassle from sales people. We even choose a second trip only to be going to this lovely island.Tips for you children: bring your own inflatable matras and let them play in the cristal clear water beginning of the beach: small waterslide middle of the beach (close to the buffetarea) boat, go up and have magnifique view. Let the kids wonder inside. around the boat: hammocks for free bring snorkels. Not a lot of fish, but because the water is cristal clear they will just enjoy putting it on and use it in the water Be sure to put on a t-shirt and sunblock. It can be very warm and children don't notice getting burned With the kids you can walk all the way down teh beach and watch the horses going into the water
