I made a small strip of velcro that can wrap around and stick on the back of itself. DW thanks me every cruise, and hasn't complained about her hand getting sore holding the hairdryer button in. :)

Towel clips - the upper pool decks are so windy that it's tough to keep your towel on. These clips are great! They can also be used to keep balcony curtains closed to keep light out.

One more thing:

Alcohol pads if you plan on snorkeling and using the tour's equipment. Our friends found it reassuring to sanitize the snorkel and PFD inflator.

Vinyl/plastic hanging shoe rack to hang on back of bathroom door. Lots of pockets to store the extra stuff that doesn't fit in cabinets. Clothes pins with fishing weights attached to hang on shower curtains on ships that don't have glass shower doors. Keeps the curtain from getting up close and personal with you :)

lots of good ideas here that I have used many times.

 

But my favorite is the space saver bags (I use the ones you roll) Don't really use much fro the trip there, but I put a day or twos worth of dirty clothes in one as I take the clothes off, roll it up and put in the bottom of closet. On the last day, its easy, quick and quite painless to pack to go home. Just hate using precious time that last night packing!!!

take a few dryer sheets in a baggie - the kind you throw into your clothes dryer to eliminate static cling. Put one under your mattress at the head and one at the foot of your bed. No bedbugs to worry about and your bed smells fresh and clean all week.

I read this idea in another thread.... Magnetic white board, put it on the outside of the cabin and leave a daily saying or quote... People will leave comments to you. Sounds fun gonna try it next week :-)

The ones we take are mesh with a metal spring frame, and we typically find them at either the dollar store or at the flea market.

 

They are about the size of my spread palm and fingers when they're folded up, and fit in any cruise closet we have had.

 

If you get the dollar store ones, just don't try to pick them up by the top or the handles. :D

Thanks so much! Our first cruise with the whole family was great but I recall tripping over bags of laundry 5 times every day! If we can stand this in the closet that will be a big help I think.

All great ideas, some of which I use already and some I will use, one important one I always bring is anti-diarrea medicine, cough drops, alka seltzer plus products for cold, upset tommy etc. I put my sunglasses in the insulated cup I bring no more broken glasses.

we pick ours up at the dollar store. the closet is pretty big and we usually get 2 in there. they fold down nice and small as well. Not sure on the exact size mind you but all the ones that I have seen will work

Pack what you'd take on any normal vacation to the same maybe even less as you will be in the same room every day and have laundry services available to you. if you'd normally take an over the door shoe hanger on vacation take it, if not leave it at home, if you'd normally take duct tape ditto and so on.

- Extra ziploc bags in case something leaks and the bag needs to be replaced (it's happened more than once)

- Post-it notes to leave messages for stateroom attendant which I stick on the mirror

An alarm clock so when you wake up in the middle of the night you know what time it is. Or in case you take a nap you can set an alarm and not over sleep.

 

We use the over the door shoe holder for holding all of our small stuff.

After my last cruise, I decided I would start bringing a small melamine tray (5" x 7") to corral Seapass cards, jewelry, eyeglasses, etc. when I'm in the cabin. Keeps items from wandering off, or as I'm too apt to do, putting them away in different places where I can't find them!
