sprockie Posted February 20, 2015 #2 Share Posted February 20, 2015 I am with you. We just got off a B2B on the Constellation and I stumbled upon a fantastic HAL itinerary for February 2016 so I booked it. Now, we have to wait over a year:mad:
cb at sea Posted February 20, 2015 #3 Share Posted February 20, 2015 Yeah..it's a little weird to want to PACK this far out! I mean, I get the anticipation, and that's great, but....
Traveling Dot Posted February 20, 2015 #4 Share Posted February 20, 2015 I don't think it is weird at all. I start planning what I'm taking on my next cruise as soon as I get home from my previous one. ;)
RMLincoln Posted February 20, 2015 #5 Share Posted February 20, 2015 To the OP: Sounds like you'd like to pack for just about anything and anywhere just to get you out of the winter misery. And that's not weird, it's human. m--
regnig Posted February 20, 2015 #6 Share Posted February 20, 2015 dixiefinn I don't find it weird at all. When I unpack from a cruise I separate "stuff" into 2 groups. Those thing I have to use here at home and those things that will get packed for the next cruise! :o That way I've started packing a year in advance. Stay warm, I bet our 19  here at the beach this AM probably sounds toasty warm to you.

the2ofus Posted February 21, 2015 #8 Share Posted February 21, 2015 Also in OH and really tired of the temps hovering around zero. My next cruise to warm places is next October, and yes, I'd start packing but my old luggage died on the last trip and I have to shop for luggage first. take us away Posted February 21, 2015 #9 Share Posted February 21, 2015 Yes it IS weird and I love it. We do not cruise until Jan 2016 and I would love to start packing!! So I am reviewing my packing lists and dreaming..... Lived in MN , hated winter and you so have my sympathies about the weather!
Rare rafinmd Posted February 21, 2015 #10 Share Posted February 21, 2015 I think what you need is a cruise between now and then. It may or may not be weird to be thinking that, but there's really only 1 cure. Roy
summer slope Posted February 21, 2015 Author #11 Share Posted February 21, 2015 Roy, you are right...but alas not possible. And thank you all for your posts. It's fun to see how many think like me. : )
mame42 Posted February 28, 2015 #12 Share Posted February 28, 2015 I began shopping this weekend for my 89 day January 2016 cruise. It occurred to me that next November, when It should be time to get serious about organizing for three climate zones, it might be difficult to find short sleeve tee shirts or linen pants. At first I would tease her about it, but now I see it makes sense. Just this morning we were talking about the cruise we want to take next summer but haven't booked yet because we are still waiting for the cruises to be announced. She looked at me with a big grin and said she is almost ready to go since she has most of her "cruise" stuff already organized! :D Edited February 28, 2015 by JimAOk1945

dvcmember Posted March 1, 2015 #17 Share Posted March 1, 2015 Absolutely not! I have the luxury of living in Florida and I swear I am always packing a suitcase. Suggestion: Print out the deck plans in color and make a cover page. Then you can flip through the pages when you are dreaming about being onboard the ship. Plus, it helps you get familiar with the ships layout. Put some things aside. I always have some clothes I wear when cruising. Just think of all the months you have to find bargains at the store for new stuff! Have lots of fun in anticipation before your cruise. I have 37 more days until my next one. Very excited. My very first 10-day voyage.

Three on my desk now. And yes, I was trying on some cruise clothes yesterday (but we sail in six weeks - yay!)

Hadn't thought of doing one for future trips tho....good idea....!!
JimAOk1945 Posted March 1, 2015 #24 Share Posted March 1, 2015 My wife started a "future cruise" folder for a cruise we plan to take next Summer. She made printouts of the shore excursions we plan to take, as well as the deck plans and other information about the ship. We haven't booked it yet since we are still waiting for the Summer itineraries to be announced. When it opens, we are ready!
