jp30338 Posted February 27, 2015 #1 Share Posted February 27, 2015 (edited) Royal lets you cash a personal check up to $200.00, does Carnival allow this, and if so, how much? Edited February 27, 2015 by jp30338

Not sure why anyone would still use traveller cks when credit/debit cards & ATM are everywhere these days.
cb at sea Posted February 27, 2015 #5 Share Posted February 27, 2015 Yes...but it's the same...one $200 check per cruise. Easier to bring the cash you need...take home what you don't use!

Thanks. I ran out of cash last cruise and since I had my check book in muy suitcase, I used it instead of the atm or casino to avoid extra fees :)
jp30338 Posted February 27, 2015 Author #10 Share Posted February 27, 2015 Can I cash checks on board? Guests may use their personal checks on board to acquire a cash advance. Global Cash Access (GCA) provides this service by debiting the guest's checking account, using the account number on the check. Limits are determined by the monies currently available in the guest's checking account that the check is drawn on. Just like a debit card transaction, the money is immediately debited from the guest's account. For this service, GCA charges 5.5% of the value of the cash advance requested or a flat fee of $5.50 USD*if the amount requested is $100 USD or less. As part of this transaction, a new GCA check is generated for the transaction amount and the guest is requested to endorse it over to CCL in order to receive the cash. The guest's personal check is returned to them after the bank account number is obtained from the bottom of the check. Both the Guest Services Desk and the Casino offer this service Guess there is a fee.
