S&G1968 Posted March 1, 2015 #26 Share Posted March 1, 2015 (edited) ....also, we were on the Constellation out of Fort Lauderdale over Christmas and truly enjoyed the ship. Try the speciality restauraunts as well... I loved Ocean Linears! Steve Edited March 1, 2015 by Sterlruth
true45 Posted March 1, 2015 #27 Share Posted March 1, 2015
You could have just sent the screen shot to the TA (with a written explanation) so they could spend their afternoon on the phone.
Hi It was a day off for regular TA & got an unqualified substitute unfortunately They said they didn't see the same thing in their computer that I did And I have gotten the wrong info too many times to count from other TAs that I had to clear up with Celebrity directly. It got to a point as it does with a lot of us cruisers that we know as much or more than the TA and we transfer our bookings for extras like OBC I found that it was actually costing me in time, aggravation and sometimes money so I go it alone. Not to say there aren't terrific TAs out there but I don't want to take any more chances Happy sailing
zactak Posted March 1, 2015 Author #28 Share Posted March 1, 2015 Thank you, everyone for your comments and suggestions. I did reach out to Celebrity on the email they provided earlier in this thread. I'm looking forward to hearing from them and will let everyone know the outcome. For those that recommend getting a TA in the future, do you feel like you can still research and plan your trip? For me, looking for the deals and all the research is like an extension of the vacation for me.
Sorry to say this but I can see that this cruise will end up being a total disaster since you are off to a bad start no matter how things really are you will be in a total negative mood unless you let it go. As they say if NJ Fugeddaboudit. What has happened is not unique to you as there have been a few other threads about this recently. Don't really know the problem or reason as Celebrity will run many specials and different rates for the same cabin same cruise. Some are in lieu of other promos but are really not clear and very difficult to figure out. One of the problems is that they do not list the taxes and fees in the cost when choosing a cabin. The almighty * is there and they are listed but not included. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌞
It is sad to hear that this isn't unique, but hopefully Celebrity will fix the issues they have. I'm actually pretty laid back, and easily impressed, so I doubt the trip will be any less enjoyable because of my experience. It's our first vacation together and we're still very excited about going, even if we are a little miffed at the cruise line.
Hopefully the OP checked back in here and sees post #16.....
I did see that post and contacted them last night. Hopefully they respond soon :)
zactak Posted March 1, 2015 Author #29 Share Posted March 1, 2015
Sorry you are having difficulty. Is it possible the $200 increase is taxes? The base fares that show up when you see each category do not include the taxes. I took a peek at your sailing date and the price from the first page to the booking page went up about $200 when the taxes were added. As far as upgrading, cle-guy is correct. You are booking so close to the sailing date that any change is difficult (and usually expensive) to make. When booking a cruise I always book the cabin I want knowing that changing to something else will usually cost more money than it is worth. If you read these forums a lot, you'll at least be happy to know that the onboard product is much better than the on-line support.
Thank you, Rick. No, even with the taxes included, the full balance due was $1,032. The first representative I spoke with even mentioned with all the bells and whistles, he couldn't see it being as high as the site told me on Wednesday. Miss SeaBee Posted March 3, 2015 #30 Share Posted March 3, 2015 I'm sorry you are having issues with your booking. I'm one of those OCD planners, and my stress level would be out the roof if I had to count on someone else to handle my plans. I have been fortunate in my online X bookings, I always do it myself, including specialty dining and shor excursions, and I've never had a problem. It definitely pays to read CC forums thoroughly before booking. I have found the information about promos, cabin selection, etc invaluable!:)

I'm still waiting for a response. I'm sure it takes some time for them to sift through the emails they receive. I'm trying to be patient... Lol. I'll definitely let everyone know of the outcome. lovetotraveltx Posted March 4, 2015 #33 Share Posted March 4, 2015 I was told by the celebrity specialist to write to that concerns e-mail. Never heard back. Posted here again and was told they never saw it. Resent my detailed e-mail. Got a quick reply saying got that one and never heard back. Did get a phone reply to the Michael@celebrity email rather quickly but they really couldn't help. Hope you get the answers youre looking for! zactak Posted March 8, 2015 Author #34 Share Posted March 8, 2015 Hey everyone! I just wanted to write a quick update. I emailed Celebrity last Saturday evening. I received a phone call Wednesday evening from someone at Celebrity, but I wasn't available to answer. They left a message and sent an email and the gist of those were an apology and they were happy they could mitigate my losses by providing the $100 onboard credit from my second phone call. I called back within 20 minutes of the missed call on Wednesday and I was told the person helping me was gone for the day and they'd leave him a message to call me back. I haven't heard anything since then.
zactak Posted March 24, 2015 Author #35 Share Posted March 24, 2015 Well, since I never received a call back from the representative last week, I went ahead and escalated my complaint to the contactmichael@celebrity.com email address. I just got off the phone with a representative from the executive department. They provided me with a complimentary bottle of wine and dinner at the specialty restaurant of our choosing. She was very nice and apologetic. I really just wanted my concerns heard, so I am satisfied with this outcome. Now to enjoy the cruise! :)
