mrpayroll Posted March 26, 2015 #1 Share Posted March 26, 2015 We have never used carnival transportation for airport to port before. Upcoming cruise is from San Juan. Does the bus wait to be full before leaving from airport to port, or is it on a schedule like every half hour or so ? Would taking a taxi be quicker? Thanks....:)
Cruise Traveler Susan Posted March 26, 2015 #2 Share Posted March 26, 2015 My experience has been they wait until they are full - they have a list of people they are expecting and don't go until they have all on the list.

pe4all Posted March 26, 2015 #4 Share Posted March 26, 2015 (edited) Taxis are lined up as you exit the terminal. The dispatcher asks where you are going, and tells the driver, and off you go. Little, if any wait. Edited March 26, 2015 by pe4all
figdu Posted March 26, 2015 #5 Share Posted March 26, 2015 Actually in San Juan the taxi is cheaper than Carnival transportation anyway.
Rare Honolulu Blue Posted March 26, 2015 #6 Share Posted March 26, 2015 As mentioned by others, you should expect the shuttle to leave when it's full. There's no set schedule. A taxi would almost certainly be quicker. Actually in San Juan the taxi is cheaper than Carnival transportation anyway. For two or more people, yes. For one, no. LUVS2CRUZE Posted March 26, 2015 #7 Share Posted March 26, 2015 Anytime we have had transfers with Carnival, we have waited a very long time. They do not like you to get to the Dock to early. We no longer use Carnival transfers.
1threadshort Posted March 26, 2015 #8 Share Posted March 26, 2015 luvs2cruz so you take a taxi instead and there are no problems? we always took the shuttle.
lasvegascruising Posted March 28, 2015 #9 Share Posted March 28, 2015 I have used both. Carnival transfer and private companies. Quite frankly, I prefer using the Carnival transfer. I pay for the service, they know what time and what airline I'm on. I just go to bag claim and there they are. Private companies, I'm calling them or they are calling me, where is the van, where do I go.....I feel that I'm very well taken care of when I book Carnival transfers. Gopherpharm Posted March 29, 2015 #12 Share Posted March 29, 2015 I've only used Carnival transfers in Miami, but it went very smoothly and was less expensive for two people. We waited maybe 10 minutes to get into the shuttle after getting our S&S cards at baggage claim. I'm using Carnival transfers again in a few months in Miami.
