Upgrading Cabin

If it's sold out, it's sold out. No cabins are available on a sold out cruise. This is the main reason I tell everyone, only book a cabin you'll know you can be happy with and never book a cheap cabin just hoping for an upgrade. Upgrades don't happen much anymore, and if they do, the cruise lines, including Carnival, make you pay the difference in price between the cabin you booked and the one you upgraded to. Not much of a deal to be had anymore, since cruise ships are sailing at an average of 105% of capacity. BTW, they sail at more than 100% capacity because they book more than two to a cabin, therefore increasing capacity.

Exxcept for holiday sailings I never believe the "sold out: status especially in October, a slow time for cruise ships. Very often when you go to check in they have a person who handles upgrades and sometims you can go to the pursers desk for this. But you will be paying for it.

I suggest going to the ships own website and see what they have available. Also check with cruise.com, anchorsaway.com, other in line companies and of course cruisecritic.com! If they have available cabins tell your TA this and have her make arrangements for an upgrade. Good luck and let us know if you get one.

There ARE cabins available for this cruise. I just took a look, and there are cabins available in categories 4B, 4C, 4D, 6A, 6B, 6E, 8B, & 12 for double occupancy. There are even quads available in 6B, 6E, & 12.

some of the available cabins might have been reserved by large cruise outlets for sale. You might have a better time surfing the different cruise TA type sites and see what they have. The only problem is, if a cruise outlet has it on hold, you might not be able to book it.

we were told by 2 TA's that the last ship we were on was sold out, but we were able to book a cabin through a cruise outlet.

You will not be able to go through carnival directly-- they will not talk with you since you have an agent.

Call the agent again today-- tell her you want to see about looking into what it will cost to upgrade. (you will have to pay the going rate.)

a oceanview is over 900pp and a balcony is 1050pp there is only 1 cat 8 balcony left. 7380 if the price sounds good to you to upgrade-- then tell her about that cabin. You will have to pay the difference.

did you book a guarantee inside cabin?

Were you given an assignment yet??
