Beverage Package Pricing Increase

Recommended Posts

Please see post 945. I posted the ingredients of the drink and the scotches on the package. If they don't match, you can assume that the price will be out of the package.

The next question will be, will they make the same drink with a "lesser" scotch so it is included in the package?

IMO that is not a good assumption. But you can certainly assume that any thing not on the list that costs less than $13 will be included. Understandable that those that look at the packages based on a list instead of a price would make that assumption. The list is a good guideline for an estimate. Anything served not on the list can and does have varied prices.

That's a pretty big leap of an assumption since you can get 30+ vodkas at the martini bar that aren't on the list but are included in the premium drink package.

At the risk of being repetitive...inclusion is based on price, not on the (example) list.

I very much doubt the new bar would be excluded from the premium package... The website says the premium package covers drinks at ALL bars... Plus after just raising the prices I very much doubt they would take a bar away from the package... The new bar is simply replacing another high end drinks venue!

Plus news like that does tend to spread fast and as we haven't heard from anyone that's been on the transatlantic crossing for the last 5-6 days I'd say all is ok! [emoji483][emoji41]

. Personally, I'm not sure why anyone would put JW gold in a mixed drink other than selling "status"...but the price could justify some extra $'s.

Yes, that is something I cannot understand either. I really don't need Maker's Mark in a Manhattan, but I am picky about my vermouth. Some are too spicy.

The comment was made that the package was good "in all bars". I have had numerous discussions with the Martini Bar Bartenders about just that fact with the classic package. On the Connie they said they did not have the smaller Martini Glasses. I went over to the casino bar and brought it back. After that they kept some.

I end up ordering a drink on the rocks with a martini glass on the side so they don't charge me for a drink at the Martini Bar. I want to enjoy a cocktail, not get into a ........ match with a bartender.

Yes, but it is the "up to $13" that gets you! This is NOT New York City were you pay $20 for a Martini! This is a cruise ship with super volume discounts when they buy liquor and little or no tax on it.

I remember when there wasn't a drink to be had over $8.00 and most were $4.50. OK, it was the 90's.

But gosh, they have taken away SOOO much! No speakers, no last sea day buffet, no specialty meatballs in the dining room, no crafts other than survival bracelets, no Gala CC event with buffet, no Acappella Group, less live music.

All there is to do now is drink or go to some event where they are trying to sell you something else!

I guess I am getting jaded.

I looked at the RCL diamond perks, nothing there, why book it.

You forgot the thicker towels in CC and above, the flowers in the cabins, the amuse bouche, the swans, the dessert choices brought to the table to see, the 11pm canapes, the midnight dessert buffet, the entertainment staff to run events, free zumba,.....

The new bar is apparently going to offer $13 and $15 drinks so I don't think anyone needs to worry that it will be jam packed..in fact it's likely that you will never have a wait to get a seat :)

Happy to see that no one is having any issues upgrading.

thank you for keeping an eye on things.

Think you may need to look at the thread about whether it is safe to brush teeth in the cabin [emoji12]

You wont need to say anything , but you can smile and no-one will know [emoji41][emoji636]

While you really don't need to look in on that nonsense on the teeth brushing thread mentioned below it would be nice if you commented on the thread on gratuities increasing. If the cat is out of the bag it would be nice to have an official notice of it.

Not wishing to offend ORV , or anyone else for that matter:cool: the link to one of the threads he mentioned can be found here

To understand it fully one needs to read the whole thread from the beginning. It is a serious matter of health on board so well worth a read
