So a quick comment - I just tried upgrading from the Classic to the Premium Pkg which should have been $140 ($10 x 7 nights x 2 ppl) online.....and checkout quoted me $974.50. Glad I was not too quick on hitting the "Continue" button.....that is quite the markup.

You cannot upgrade from the Classic Beverage package to the Premium Beverage package online. The price you were quoted $974.50 is the price to PURCHASE the Premium Beverage package.

 

I believe the only way to upgrade is to phone Celebrity.

I have faith lol Going to wait till we are on board to upgrade for our next cruises booked out until 2017.

 

I don't have that faith but at least now if I am charged the higher rate in August this year I won't get upset on the cruise. Might hear about it here on CC though.:o :p

I'll get the 'I told ya so' not you!:D

We now return everyone to their regular scheduled topics!:eek:

Do I have to wear a tie on formal night?

Can I have dinner in the MDR in shorts?

:o

Do all the cabins have showers?

Can I bring my own water on board?

Are there coffee pots in the cabins?

Can we make a 7:00 am flight if we dock at 7:15?

Are there cabs at the pier?

If we have a private tour and are late getting back, will the Capt wait for us?

 

May the force be with ya'll!

For a 14 day cruise for 2 people the upgrade price goes from $330 to $530.

Not quite double .

 

Thus my "almost" double, but then again Feelin Nauti - saw that and knew my intent.

I should have said almost double rather than not quite double - that's what I meant.

I thought the actual figures would show that.

Hopefully, everyone in Celebrity HQ and on the ships will read their mail soon and this crazy confusion will end. As it is, I am sure Celebrity bookkeeping is going to have to credit some folks back who were overcharged due to misinformation on board.

 

If anyone is told by a celebrity person (on a ship or just calling in to customer service or other) that the upgrade charge is more than $11.80 a day, please get their name and/or contact ID so that we can help "celebrity cruises" get everyone giving consistent information.

Hi Gail! I tried to last night but the first cruise I tried it for, the Oct 5th Infinity, wouldn't go through because it was a group booking not on the Celebrity site yet. I was assured it would be $11.80 and if not...well I will just sick Joe on them!!!:D

I imagine they have to pack a lot more Red Bull, bottled water, and other things with all of the classic and premium packages.
