abbyar Posted April 8, 2015 #1 Share Posted April 8, 2015 We're sailing 5/30 out of NYC. Rooms have gone to available for All categories, to available for Inside to Minisuites, to Inside & Outside view only, and today EVERYTHING is available again (even Haven). I called NCL to price out an upgrade & it would be full cost (difference of $4500 for our upgrade from minisuite to 2-bedroom suite). Funny thing is, just about every 2 bedroom suite shows availbility on this cruise (7 online right now), but the NCL PCC couldn't see any of them until she "contacted her supervisor". So, what the heck? We're 50-odd days from sailing and NCL won't discount a suite? Super bummed right here.

We have had several "Upsell" offers over the years, but NEVER before 12, or fewer, days pre-embarkation day. Who knows your ship might just come in yet! Susie51 Posted April 8, 2015 #3 Share Posted April 8, 2015 Two weeks out you'll see a lot of changes. Check the prices each day.
Rileyz Posted April 8, 2015 #4 Share Posted April 8, 2015 There usually aren't upsells until a week before a sailing. Even then they usually have to call you.
rdiamond1 Posted April 8, 2015 #5 Share Posted April 8, 2015 We had an Email from Upsell 9 days before our cruise to upgrade to a suite for $ 500 a piece ( we were in a balcony ). It was a full ship when it sailed on March 15th - Norwegian Sun.
kandpsmom Posted April 8, 2015 #6 Share Posted April 8, 2015 You will definitely want to wait until closer to sailing probably closer to 2 weeks before sailing before you see a good deal. I checked on my cruise in December and three weeks before sailing they offered it to me at $2000 to upgrade from a mini suite to a 2 bedroom suite. Life got crazy and I was not able to upgrade. Called a week later to do it and the price dropped by $700.

I just got the upsell (email) and I didn't start getting it until two weeks prior to my cruise. 50 Days out is a long time.
ncklhaus Posted April 8, 2015 #8 Share Posted April 8, 2015 I guess it way too early to get an upsell on our room (still over 200 days), but our category is sold out and they are only offering guarantee staterooms. One can wish. :D
