Correction to above post. Meant to say that on O class (larger) ships, there usually is a $25 table available. Should also add that, effective June 1 of this year, Oceania is changing the management of their casinos…getting rid of their current contractor, Century Casinos. So, things could change.

So happy to hear the management is being changed on Oceania. . Was on a 24 day trip down the Amazon and some of the casino staff on the Regatta were shockingly rude, found out then that they were consigned and not part of the great Oceania staff. One even stated to my husband (who was one of the few using the casino )to the effect "I hope you lose". Over 650 people on board and never more than 3-6 people using casino at any one time during our cruise. Needless to say we stopped using the casino and apparently other people did too

Have to say that I am not a gambler. In fact, I lived near Reno and only went to a casino twice in 30 years. Never went to Las Vegas. But, on cruise ships I enjoy sitting at a table with a drink and schmoozing while dropping $100 on a $5 blackjack table. I find it just doesn't work if there's only a few people in the casino. It's got to have a party atmosphere, with music and talk and traffic. Hoping the Med cruise will bring out a good crowd!
