hooked cruiser Posted April 17, 2015 #26 Share Posted April 17, 2015 Unfortunately we will have to be up bright & early each port day especially St Thomas as the American immigration insist on us showing our faces, This is the reason most itineries don't visit there. It would appear that there are very few cabins left because of the new itinery?
Gymbod Posted April 17, 2015 #27 Share Posted April 17, 2015 We've just booked too! Never booked a holiday so far in advance before but wanted to get an aft cabin! Britannia Xmas Cruise 16/12/2016:D Would have loved to do the Azura cruise with the new itineraries, really want to see New Orleans, but the dates didn't work for us. Looking forward to Britannia despite some of the reviews ;)

Surely once you have done US immigration once for your cruise you don't have to do it at every stop? That doesn't make sense to me at all
hooked cruiser Posted April 18, 2015 #29 Share Posted April 18, 2015 That could actually be the case now I come to think of it. However if we are prepared for it then anything else would be a bonus. Also for the first time will have to obtain an ESTA for this one (Added expense).
Francisdrake Posted April 18, 2015 #30 Share Posted April 18, 2015 You only need to do the US immigration thing at New Orleans (I did the last New Orleans/Florida/Caribbean cruise P&O did on Ventura for New Year's Eve 2010) Was hoping to get booked on this one as well but didn't realise the Inside cabins would sell out so quickly (i'd already booked two cruises this month so was going to sort it after payday), was planning on booking next month but cheapest cabin being £2499 now has probably pushed it out of budget. vinoblanco Posted April 18, 2015 #31 Share Posted April 18, 2015 Us too ... See you there hooked cruiser ! Wasn't sure it was any cheaper than previous Christmas & new year cruises but nit bothered , so looking forward to the new itinerary! :) Booked on Azura Christmas & New Year 2016 as well, but couldn't get an aft cabin in spite of T/A trying first thing Friday morning. No worries, happy with what we settled for and £70 each obc.
Wull92 Posted April 18, 2015 #32 Share Posted April 18, 2015 We are also booked for Christmas 2016 cruise. Joining the ship in New Orleans as others on this thread. We fly out from Manchester. This is not a new itinerary (just not done often) we did it Christmas 2010 on Azura. It was a great trip hence wanting to do it again. Key West is also well worth the visit lovely port and nice shops. I`m heading for Sloppy Joe`s this time. Long time to wait 20 months  Is there a roll call yet:confused: Regards to all W&P
janieb1962 Posted April 18, 2015 #33 Share Posted April 18, 2015 Managed to get my cabin on Azura for the 23rd December 2016. New Orleans here we come!!!Price was so much cheaper than last Xmas on the Ventura. However prices have gone up in the last hour,:) Glad we opted for pre registering ( I was thinking of waiting to book on board on 29th April and get extra OBC) but just done a dummy booking and balcony cabin price we got has gone up by £350 each ( if my sums are correct ) ! hooked cruiser Posted April 20, 2015 #34 Share Posted April 20, 2015 We were extremely lucky. Got an outside cabin with £110 OBC for £1641 each. Can':)t complain at that the flight would normally be 2/3rds that in normal circumstances.

welshgirl58 Posted April 20, 2015 #38 Share Posted April 20, 2015 (edited) Hi there Welshgirl58. Fantastic. We are flying out on the 10th too and back on the 7th Jan. it's going to be an amazing cruise isn't it. Great itinerary. We are flying from Birmingham. How about you? The only thing I'm peeved about is we requested 2nd sitting Club Dining but P & O said we'd have to go on a "wait list" as it was full. So we are down for Freedom Dining. Sanjam cruisers Posted April 20, 2015 #39 Share Posted April 20, 2015 Booked for Azura Caribbean January 2016 and 2017. Normally go at end of February but no flights from Glasgow to suit us for the next two years. Don't know why P&O have changed the flight dates but it is a pain as we like to be away for the bosses birthday on 1st March. Happy cruising to all. We are flying from Birmingham too. Very odd that 2nd sitting is already full. We always book freedom dining as we like to meet different people every night. Ring again and check as it sounds a bit strange to me. Although the cruise specialist we deal with said last Friday that this particular cruise by then was half full. We couldn't get on the deck we wanted. So should be a sell out early I think.

ladywales Posted April 21, 2015 #42 Share Posted April 21, 2015 Thanks for that Dai. That makes sense. But myself I prefer freedom dining. Should be a great cruise.
Midsomer Madness Posted April 21, 2015 #43 Share Posted April 21, 2015 We are on Azura on 23rd December as well...we pre-registered direct with p&o As wanted to ensure we got booked...glad we did..we got second sitting confirmed and that was my one worry as we don't like freedom dining and fIrst sitting is too early for us.. We fly from Gatwick and understand flights are only now available from Manchester and birmingham...all inside cabins sold out on Friday! Lots of new ports of call for us and my only worry now is the US immigration and having to stand around for hours with bad knees!
forest_ Posted April 21, 2015 #44 Share Posted April 21, 2015 Booked Britannia for 17 th - 1st 10 cabins in total was fun booking. Back on P&O after a two year break, having sailed on the original Canberra!! My how ships have changed from that Grand old Lady. I like the look of Britannia already, and if the lift issue is the only problem then I am happy!! Can't wait!! woop woop
hooked cruiser Posted April 21, 2015 #45 Share Posted April 21, 2015 We also got our preferred sitting. We like 1st sitting which then enables us to make the early shows and then find a good seat i a lounge while 2nd sitting are dining. I always believe that you should pre-book for an Xmas/New Year cruise as they do sell out so quickly. With this one being new itineries since 2010 it was always going to be difficult to get what you wanted.

Oh well if it's Freedom Dining then so be it. We'll enjoy ourselves anyway. :)

robanddiane Posted April 28, 2015 #49 Share Posted April 28, 2015 Booked Azura in the Caribbean for November 2016. Quite happy with our deal, got our 5% past passenger plus 5% off our local high street travel agent. Got our freedom dining as better for us. Only booked cheapest cabin and hopefully get an upgrade but if not still happy with our deal.
PopsiB Posted April 28, 2015 #50 Share Posted April 28, 2015 We also booked Azura Christmas cruise doing the 28 nights. As a lot of people seem to also be going I've set up a Roll Call as there wasn't one started yet. We got the cabins we wanted on the Aft. Looking forward to it very much.
